The Boom Bap Show, hosted by DJ Ronsha and G-Zon, is one of the cornerstone programmes on Scientific Sound Asia, dedicated to preserving and celebrating the true essence of Hip-Hop. Its growing audience across Asia and beyond has cemented Scientific Sound Asia as not just a respected radio station but also an international DJ agency and event promoter with a strong reputation for authenticity.
Each week, the show delivers a carefully curated blend of Boom Bap, Underground Hip-Hop, and Rap, staying true to the foundations of the culture while providing a platform for new artists and established legends. G-Zon has been a central figure in the Paris Hip-Hop scene since the 1980s, recognised for his pioneering role in advancing the French Boom Bap sound.
His work alongside DJ Ronsha led to the creation of La Meute, a collective renowned for raw beats, uncompromising lyrics, and a commitment to underground principles. Their music carried the energy of Parisian streets while resonating with global audiences hungry for real hip hop.
A milestone moment for La Meute was the release of Danse Avec Les Loups, an album that featured heavyweight collaborations with 20SYL from Hocus Pocus and C2C, and Black M from Sexion d’Assaut. This project brought the collective international recognition, proving that French Boom Bap could not only hold its own but also thrive in dialogue with global hip hop movements. The album remains a key reference point for fans of the genre.
DJ Ronsha, also based in Paris, is celebrated for his sharp production style, deep knowledge of Hip-Hop history, and ability to connect the golden era with today’s evolving underground. In addition to his role on the show, Ronsha continues to collaborate with international MCs and producers.
His work includes tracks such as Underground Things featuring Napoleon Da Legend and Tone Spliff, and For Paris With Love with Mike Titan and A7CM. These releases show his commitment to building bridges between the French and international underground scenes.
Together, DJ Ronsha and G-Zon have built more than a weekly broadcast. The Boom Bap Show is a movement, one that unites listeners worldwide, keeps the legacy of Boom Bap alive, and ensures Hip-Hop’s message of authenticity, creativity, and resistance continues to inspire across cultures and generations.
The 61st episode of Boom Bap Show opens with DJ Idem’s razor-sharp intro leading into *The Snowgoons’ GoonsGear, a heavy-hitting opener featuring Sicknature, Reef The Lost Cauze, and Sean Strange. Early selections from JayBillion and Cupula blend soulful textures and cinematic boom bap drums, grounding the set in raw lyricism. Verbz & Mr Slipz keep the mood conscious with Switch Lanes, while Spoda, Gvnsmoke, and Damn!Dave raises the intensity on Go Time. The pairing of B1 The Architect with Sayzee on The Devil’s Piano signals a darker edge before Jay Royale and Raf Almighty deliver East Coast precision on Boot Beating.
The midsection brings lyrical depth and reflection. Why-D dominates with a string of cuts featuring Planet Asia, Masta Ace, and El Da Sensei, all enhanced by DJ Devastate’s trademark scratches. Tragedy Khadafi returns alongside DJ Supa Dave for Francis Ford Coppola, a sharp storytelling piece linking cinematic flair to street realism. *Termanology’s Just Different follows with soulful modernity, while TruWerdz & King Vir2ue deliver motivational energy through tracks like Gonna Make It and Bars Invasion. The combination of Rook Da Rukus and Psix reintroduces the essence of raw lyricism, balancing thought and aggression.
As the second hour unfolds, Jay Royale and Crown continue their impressive run with Brick Hands, featuring another appearance from Tragedy Khadafi. Mr. Ripley & Sinamatik, along with Planet Asia, bring strong lyricism on Levitate, while Black Silq & Serati Beats turn up the heat with Meat Cutter. Da Buze Bruvaz and Giallo Point deliver a trilogy of street anthems, blending nostalgic grit and unfiltered attitude. The production remains boom-heavy and sample-driven, keeping the classic feel alive across transitions.
Deeper into the third hour, Pioneers Of The Golden Days by Why-D, El Da Sensei, and Sadat X pays tribute to the roots of the genre, while Been Large by Killah Priest and Planet Asia merges spirituality with rugged boom bap beats. Tracks by Oktane, P-Ro, and DTaylz The Profit maintain the show’s momentum with diverse flows and layered instrumentals. BSF’s presence on Be Who You Are connects the underground lineage to the new wave of Buffalo’s movement, while TNF Inc.’s Around The World delivers a nostalgic yet refined groove.
The closing section showcases the breadth of the underground. Caper & Reflection Beatdownz craft eerie depth on Dark Castles, while *Serge Severe & Sxlxmxn’s Younger Dayz brings introspective nostalgia. Ayoo Bigz, Royal Flush, and DJ Clif combine for raw East Coast energy on Let Me Explain, and BeenOfficialLord & Nes’ Wiggie Scriptures close with spiritual and poetic reflection. Every verse, cut, and scratch contributes to a cohesive narrative that honours authenticity.
Across three hours, Boom Bap Show 61 captures the full range of underground hip hop — Boom Bap grit, Hardcore realism, and lyrical introspection. DJ Ronsha & G-Zon once again deliver a curated journey of skill and substance, keeping the true essence of hip hop alive on Scientific Sound Asia.
