Accessibility Statement

1. Introduction

Scientific Sound Asia is committed to ensuring that our website, www.scientificsound.asia, is accessible to all users, including those with disabilities. We believe that access to music, culture, and information should not be restricted by barriers relating to how a person navigates the web.

This accessibility statement applies to the entire Scientific Sound Asia website and describes the measures we take, our current conformance status, and how to get in touch if you encounter a problem.

Scientific Sound Asia takes the following measures to ensure the accessibility of our website:

  • Accessibility is considered at every stage of website development and content production.

  • We use semantic HTML and structured page layouts to support screen readers and assistive technologies.

  • We provide text alternatives for non-text content, including images and embedded media where technically feasible.

  • We design for keyboard navigability so that the site can be used without a mouse.

  • We maintain sufficient colour contrast ratios across all core page elements.

  • We welcome feedback from users and act on reported accessibility barriers promptly.

3. Conformance Status

The Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) define requirements for making web content accessible to people with disabilities. Conformance is measured at three levels: Level A (minimum), Level AA (standard), and Level AAA (enhanced).

Scientific Sound Asia aims to conform to WCAG 2.2 Level AA. We conduct periodic reviews of our content and technical implementation to identify and address any shortcomings. Where full conformance is not yet achieved, we note any known limitations below and work to resolve them.

3.1 Known Limitations

We are not aware of any significant accessibility barriers on the current version of the site. However, some third-party embedded content (such as radio player widgets and social media embeds) may not fully conform to WCAG 2.2 Level AA, as these are provided by external services outside our direct control. We will continue to monitor and raise concerns with those providers where possible.

 

4. Technical Approach

The Website is built on WordPress using a customised theme. Our technical accessibility measures include:

  • Proper use of ARIA landmarks and roles where native HTML semantics are insufficient.

  • Skip navigation links to allow keyboard users to bypass repetitive content.

  • Responsive design ensuring the site is usable on a range of screen sizes and zoom levels.

  • Focus indicators maintained on all interactive elements.

  • Form labels and error messages implemented to support assistive technologies.
