The Boom Bap Show, hosted by DJ Ronsha and G-Zon, is one of the cornerstone programmes on Scientific Sound Asia, dedicated to preserving and celebrating the true essence of Hip-Hop. Its growing audience across Asia and beyond has cemented Scientific Sound Asia as not just a respected radio station but also an international DJ agency and event promoter with a strong reputation for authenticity.
Each week, the show delivers a carefully curated blend of Boom Bap, Underground Hip-Hop, and Rap, staying true to the foundations of the culture while providing a platform for new artists and established legends. G-Zon has been a central figure in the Paris Hip-Hop scene since the 1980s, recognised for his pioneering role in advancing the French Boom Bap sound.
His work alongside DJ Ronsha led to the creation of La Meute, a collective renowned for raw beats, uncompromising lyrics, and a commitment to underground principles. Their music carried the energy of Parisian streets while resonating with global audiences hungry for real hip hop.
A milestone moment for La Meute was the release of Danse Avec Les Loups, an album that featured heavyweight collaborations with 20SYL from Hocus Pocus and C2C, and Black M from Sexion d’Assaut. This project brought the collective international recognition, proving that French Boom Bap could not only hold its own but also thrive in dialogue with global hip hop movements. The album remains a key reference point for fans of the genre.
DJ Ronsha, also based in Paris, is celebrated for his sharp production style, deep knowledge of Hip-Hop history, and ability to connect the golden era with today’s evolving underground. In addition to his role on the show, Ronsha continues to collaborate with international MCs and producers.
His work includes tracks such as Underground Things featuring Napoleon Da Legend and Tone Spliff, and For Paris With Love with Mike Titan and A7CM. These releases show his commitment to building bridges between the French and international underground scenes.
Together, DJ Ronsha and G-Zon have built more than a weekly broadcast. The Boom Bap Show is a movement, one that unites listeners worldwide, keeps the legacy of Boom Bap alive, and ensures Hip-Hop’s message of authenticity, creativity, and resistance continues to inspire across cultures and generations.
Episode 60 of Boom Bap Show opens with DJ M-1 setting the tone through precise cuts and sharp turntablism on Champion Sweats and Don’t Die. S.A.S. follow with two explosive collaborations featuring Abrupt, reconnecting British and New York roots through hard-hitting rhymes. Tragedy Khadafi & DJ Supa Dave elevate the show’s lyrical foundation with Jesus H Christ and Musical Warfare featuring Blaq Poet, while Fred Hampton delivers potent political homage. Early highlights also include Reason At All by Legit & Tsicos and Graduation by Broken Sword, both combining raw lyricism with introspective themes.
The mid-set grows denser, balancing grit and reflection. Napoleon Da Legend shines on Money alongside Dub Sonata and Nejma Nefertiti, followed by Better Days from JRoberts & IM’PERETIV featuring Rasheed Chappell, whose verses evoke perseverance. The Experience by Tre-Dot & DJ Tekwun and Moonlight, Pt. 8 by Johnny Ciggs & Fan Ran slow the tempo slightly while maintaining narrative focus. Jay Royale dominates multiple slots with The Let Go, What Ya Life Like, The Famished, and Roddy Piper, showing versatility from street realism to cinematic storytelling.
As the mix evolves, Stay Warm by Tha God Fahim offers minimalist strength before Pam’s Joint by Willie The Kid & Soop softens the mood with jazz-inflected bounce. Death At The Derby’s Lunatics In London marks a dark conceptual peak, weaving football rivalries and lyrical warfare over DJ Dubplates’ razor-sharp cuts. Tracks by Terror Van Poo, Slik Jack, and Sayzee push into Hardcore territory, contrasting the smoother delivery of Peroxide and South Paw, where Bless Picasso and Ignorancia Sofisticada bring poetic depth.
In the closing stretch, Covert Opps by Kingdom Kome & G Fam Black and GodplexX The Musical by DTaylz The Profit, Gamblez Tha Lucky Bastard & Hi-Q re-anchor the set in collective artistry. Wahid by Indigo Phoenyx and One Tuff Cookie by William Bostick embody the underground spirit of persistence. Finally, DOOM On The Beatbox by Lower Life Forms, Kurious, MF DOOM & Team Demo delivers a fitting salute to one of hip hop’s most creative legacies, closing nearly three hours of authentic Boom Bap energy.
Boom Bap Show 60 captures the full scope of the underground—lyrical mastery, technical cuts, and a deep respect for tradition. Across 2 hours and 40 minutes, DJ Ronsha & G-Zon curate a seamless journey that bridges eras and continents, keeping true hip hop alive on Scientific Sound Asia.
