The Boom Bap Show, hosted by DJ Ronsha and G-Zon, is one of the flagship programmes on Scientific Sound Asia. Dedicated to preserving the true essence of authentic Hip-Hop, the show airs weekly and delivers a strong mix of Boom Bap, Underground Hip-Hop, and Rap. It serves as a vital platform for both veteran artists and rising talent. Scientific Sound Asia continues to grow as a respected radio station, DJ agency, and event promoter, with a broad international audience across Asia and beyond.
G-Zon has played a major role in shaping the Paris rap scene since the 1980s and is recognised as one of the key figures behind the rise of French Boom Bap. His longstanding collaboration with DJ Ronsha led to the creation of La Meute, a collective known for raw production and hard-hitting lyrics. Together, they have stayed true to traditional Hip-Hop values while constantly pushing creative boundaries.
A key milestone in their career was the release of Danse Avec Les Loups, a project that featured contributions from well-known French artists such as 20SYL (of Hocus Pocus and C2C) and Black M (of Sexion d’Assaut). The album helped bring La Meute greater international recognition, all while keeping its underground credibility intact.
Based in Paris, DJ Ronsha is known for his sharp production style and deep musical knowledge. As both the show's resident DJ and La Meute's lead beatmaker, he brings a carefully curated selection of tracks to each episode, balancing classic material with fresh discoveries. His mixes showcase the roots of the culture while pushing its evolution forward.
Together, DJ Ronsha and G-Zon have created more than a radio show. They have built a movement. Through La Meute, live performances, and global collaborations, they continue to unite Hip-Hop fans across generations and borders, keeping the culture’s past, present, and future connected.
The mix begins with Fel Sweetenberg & Buckwild’s Bone Orchard, cutting deep with DJ Djaz’s precision. Arrested Development follow with My Job Ain’t Done and Let’s Get On With It, bringing their conscious hip hop flair into the boom bap frame. Money Mogly & TeV95’s Chess Moves keeps the bars sharp, while Osiris Rex & Micall Parknsun rework Can’t Say Shit into a punchy remix with MF Vandal. Cam Be & Neak’s EyeWonder, featuring Skyzoo and Slot-A, adds reflective lyricism, pushing the narrative side of underground hip hop.
Momentum grows with M-Dot & Confidence’s back-to-back cuts 24 To 1 and Don’t Know Why, gritty storytelling sharpened by EMS’s features. Kendall Spencer & August Fanon’s Crucified Yet Crown and Mar & The Forgotten’s Start Over elevate the conscious vibe, while A-F-R-O’s fire shines on A Man Apart. Genesis7 flips funk and soul textures on Some HipHop, before Truffel The Phunky Phaqir and DJ TMB bring hardcore boom bap energy with Run Up In Ya Spot and Beware Of My Wrath.
The set then dives into darker tones with Recognize Ali and Tragedy Khadafi on Elevation and Canibus’s cutting verses on Creed. DJ Mirage’s Mirage, packed with veterans Eto, Edo G, and Masta Ace, layers classic East Coast grit, while Jamil Honesty & JR Swiftz’s Real Rap and Chakras showcase precision scratches from DJ Grazzhoppa. Later cuts like Diplomats and Machacha’s Spanish Saffron tie in modern underground firepower with veterans like 38 Spesh and Grazzhoppa, reaffirming the deep links between eras.
Closing the extended set, SoulRocca’s Distance The Mission and Terror Van Poo’s Habitz bring sharp posse energy, followed by Eclyse & Forge One’s double contribution, moving from Echoes From The Chambers to The Ghost Of The Glacier. The finale packs heavyweights: Eff Yoo & Deep’s Flan, Fel Sweetenberg & Nottz’s The Dream Is A Nightmare, and DJ Mirage’s Different Price featuring Elcamino, M-Dot, and Che Noir. DJ Ronsha & G-Zon round off another marathon episode of Boom Bap Show, reaffirming their commitment to keeping underground hip hop alive with a balance of East Coast legends, boom bap purists, and rising voices.
