Marco Mei publishes a playlist for 2021 podcast 36

Marco Mei of Bicycle Corporation has released the playlist for his upcoming show on Scientific Sound Asia. The station operates as an English-language electronic music radio platform, DJ agency and event promoter, connecting audiences across Asia and internationally.

Originally from Italy, Marco Mei brings over thirty years of experience as a DJ and producer. His early influences were rooted in Afrobeat and synthesised music, which shaped his initial direction before he began DJing professionally in the early 1990s.

In later years, his career has taken him to festivals and clubs around the world, where he has shared the decks with artists such as Roger Sanchez, David Morales, Ralph Falcon and Sander Kleinenberg. As his reputation developed, he secured a residency at Pacha Club in Sharm el-Sheikh.

This opened the door to international touring, allowing him to refine his craft at venues including Woo Bar, Fuse in Brussels, Room 18 in Taipei, Bangaluu in Berlin, G-Star in Pattaya, SOS Supper Club in Bali and NLO in Minsk. Along the way, he has performed alongside artists such as Harry Romero, Justin Berkmann and Funk D’Void, further strengthening his presence within the global club circuit.

In 2009, he formed Bicycle Corporation with Stefano Ugliano, also known as 6884. The project brought together their combined experience in DJing and production, resulting in a catalogue of releases across house and techno.

Their first signing came via 17:44, followed by releases on labels including Alchemy, Miniatures, WL77, GrooveTraxx, Suka and Revox. Since then, the duo have released more than fifty tracks and remixes, spanning Deep House, Tech House, French House and Techno, earning recognition within the underground scene. Their Hard Techno remix of Virus D.D.D’s Origination stands as a strong example of their continued output.

Now based in Taipei, Marco Mei remains active across the region, performing regularly and contributing to a growing network of artists within Southeast Asia. His weekly radio show reflects this breadth, featuring a selection of Deep House, Tech House, Afro House, Melodic Techno, Nu Disco, Indie Dance and Techno, maintaining a balance between groove, melody and club-focused energy. He is available for bookings through the Scientific Sound Asia DJ agency.

Podcast 36 opens with a deep and refined tone as The State in Larry Heard’s Mr. Fingers mix sets a warm Deep House foundation. Milla Calls and Believer build on that groove, while Confusion introduces a more melodic and atmospheric layer. Mood in the Dapayk and VARS remix and Inner Tension continue the progression with a balance of minimal rhythm and club-focused energy.

The mix expands through The Witness and America the Beautiful, where melodic house and leftfield elements add depth and variation. Nina Kraviz’s remix of Skyscrapers brings a hypnotic feel before Secret Weapons and Peacemaker tighten the groove. Together and Russell Woods maintain a steady Tech House direction, keeping the rhythm moving forward.

Momentum continues with Music Saved My Life in the Marshall Jefferson remix and I Don’t Wanna Lose You, both reinforcing classic House influences. Sisco Visco and Say Good Bye maintain the groove, while Dancing and Work introduce a slightly more upbeat and vocal-driven energy.

The closing section blends House and Disco influences with Secrets in the Kim Ann Foxman remix and Patci keeping the rhythm tight. Chemistry and Disco Tape bring a more playful edge before Lone Cat in the Dennis Ferrer, and Steve Martinez rework adds a deeper finish. Oh Honey closes the episode with a warm Disco touch, completing a smooth journey across House, Deep House and Tech House.
