Marco Mei, the veteran Italian DJ and producer behind Bicycle Corporation, returns with a fresh edition of his long-running radio show on Scientific Sound Asia. The station continues to operate as a vital platform for underground electronic and urban music across Asia, connecting international audiences through radio broadcasts, live events and a global artist network.
With a career spanning more than three decades, Marco has developed a distinctive sound shaped by Afro-influenced rhythms, deep house foundations and forward-driving club energy. His instinctive understanding of the dancefloor, paired with a refined musical sensibility, has earned him long-standing respect and a loyal following across Europe, Asia and beyond.
Marco’s journey began in the early 1990s in Turin, where he immersed himself in the city’s underground club culture. Drawn to house, techno and Afro-centric rhythms, he co-founded the Urban People collective, which played a formative role in Italy’s early electronic music movement by organising progressive events and club nights that pushed beyond mainstream boundaries.
A pivotal chapter followed with a residency at Pacha Sharm El Sheikh, bringing wider international recognition and opening the door to performances at respected venues worldwide. His touring history includes clubs such as Woo Bar in Bali, The Mansion in Shanghai, Fuse in Brussels and The Observatory in Ho Chi Minh City, among many others.
In 2009, Marco joined forces with Stefano Ugliano, also known as 6884, forming Bicycle Corporation. Together, they have released more than fifty tracks and remixes spanning Deep House, Tech House, French House and Techno, appearing on labels including Alchemy, Miniatures, WL77, Suka and GrooveTraxx. Their output consistently balances club functionality with musical depth, earning steady support across the underground circuit.
Now based in Taipei, Marco remains an active and influential presence within the region’s electronic music scene. Through his ongoing radio work with Scientific Sound Asia, he distils decades of experience into carefully curated selections that honour classic club culture while embracing contemporary sounds. Each broadcast offers a snapshot of Marco Mei’s enduring connection to the dancefloor, reinforcing his role as a bridge between generations, scenes and global underground communities.
The episode opens with a confident run of House and Nu Disco influenced selections, setting a warm and groove-driven tone. Tracks like If You Want Me and Look Good establish an accessible flow, while Deep House cuts such as Laidback Ithaca Flow and Gotta Let You Go add depth and subtle swing early in the mix.
As the journey continues, the balance shifts between classic House energy and disco-rooted moments. You’re My Magician and Can You Handle It bring vintage disco attitude into the session, while I Get Lifted reinforces a timeless House foundation. Funky and soulful elements keep the pacing lively without pushing too hard.
The middle section tightens with a series of Tech House selections, where Endless High in the Huxley remix and That Feeling introduce stronger basslines and punchier rhythms. This section adds club pressure while remaining controlled, allowing the groove to build naturally rather than relying on sudden peaks.
The closing stretch sharpens the focus with driving Tech House and a single peak-time Techno moment. Frisk in its Dantiez Saunderson and Tara Brooks remix provides a burst of raw energy before the set settles back into House, closing with uplifting, floor-friendly selections that underline the episode’s cohesive and club-ready character.
Don’t miss DJ Marco Mei’s live set on Saturday, January 10th, 2026, from 6 to 8 PM Indochina Time (ICT). If you can’t tune in for the live show, catch the replay on Wednesday between 6 and 8 AM ICT.
