The Boom Bap Show, presented by DJ Ronsha and G-Zon, is a flagship programme on Scientific Sound Asia, committed to maintaining the authentic spirit of genuine Hip-Hop. Broadcasting each week, the show provides a powerful combination of Boom Bap, Underground Hip-Hop and Rap, serving as an important platform for both established purists and rising artists. Scientific Sound Asia continues expanding as a respected radio station, DJ agency and promoter, with extensive international reach across Asia and further afield.
G-Zon has been a central figure in the Parisian rap scene since the 1980s, contributing to the establishment of French Boom Bap. His creative partnership with DJ Ronsha led to the formation of La Meute, a collective recognised for uncompromising lyrics and raw production. Together, they have supported a sound grounded in tradition while consistently exploring creative boundaries.
An important achievement in their development was the release of Danse Avec Les Loups, an acclaimed project featuring collaborations with prominent French artists, including 20SYL (of Hocus Pocus and C2C) and Black M (of Sexion d'Assaut). The album brought La Meute greater international recognition while remaining true to its underground principles.
DJ Ronsha, also based in Paris, is respected for his sharp production style and extensive musical knowledge. As the show's resident DJ and La Meute's main beatmaker, his carefully selected tracks and refined mixes give the programme its distinctive character. In addition to spotlighting classics, he frequently introduces new talent, reinforcing the culture's roots while supporting its evolution.
Together, DJ Ronsha and G-Zon have built more than just a radio show. They represent a movement. Through their work with La Meute, their live performances, and international collaborations, they continue to connect Hip-Hop fans across generations, ensuring the genre’s legacy and future remain intertwined.
The Boom Bap Show is now on a summer break from fresh releases, but DJ Ronsha & G-Zon continue to bring the heat with archive episodes packed full of raw Boom Bap, Underground Hip Hop, and timeless lyrical gems.
This Summer Series episode opens with raw precision. Roccwell and Wildelux set the tone over sharp drums and scratches, while Craig G’s Live On Stage reminds listeners of hip hop’s live essence. The energy shifts into deeper territory with Russ Prez’s A L L A H and Ras Kass & El Gant’s Aristocrats, combining political awareness with dense bars. Killarmy and La The Darkman bring back militant Wu-Tang energy on The Shootout Pt. II, a moment that anchors the first third of the show in grit and purpose.
As the mix progresses, we move between introspective and streetwise themes. Joshua David’s Heaven softens the tone with soul-driven reflection, while Wudan Swordsmen’s Immortals and Hustle Hard ground us again in spiritual and lyrical discipline. UK and European artists like Phyba, EllMatic, and Giallo Point contribute to the global Boom Bap connection. Meanwhile, posse cuts from King Magnetic, Snowgoons, and Wisecracker bring dense collaborations full of verbal dexterity and underground edge.
Toward the final third, standout tracks like Piece Up with Soul King and Defari offer West Coast warmth over East Coast drums. The remix of All I Need by DJ Deadeye combines Havoc, Termanology, and Big Noyd in a ferocious reunion of elite wordsmiths. Blu Yonder, Denzil Porter, and Diar Lansky continue the theme of resilience and hustle, reflecting on independent paths and survival in the game.
The episode closes with high-impact lyrical cuts. Roc Marciano and XP The Marxman’s No Idea delivers cinematic understatement, while Screwmanew & Low’s What You Lying For! ends the show with fire and frustration. From foundational East Coast sounds to international boom bap innovation, DJ Ronsha & G-Zon’s second summer archive episode keeps the underground flame alive with style and substance.
Join our live broadcast on Thursday, July 10th, 2025, from 10 PM to 12 AM Indochina Time (ICT), and catch the replay on Monday from 10 AM to 12 PM (ICT).
