The Boom Bap Show, presented by DJ Ronsha and G-Zon, is a flagship programme on Scientific Sound Asia, committed to maintaining the authentic spirit of genuine Hip-Hop. Broadcasting each week, the show provides a powerful combination of Boom Bap, Underground Hip-Hop and Rap, serving as an important platform for both established purists and rising artists. Scientific Sound Asia continues expanding as a respected radio station, DJ agency and promoter, with extensive international reach across Asia and further afield.
G-Zon has been a central figure in the Parisian rap scene since the 1980s, contributing to the establishment of French Boom Bap. His creative partnership with DJ Ronsha led to the formation of La Meute, a collective recognised for uncompromising lyrics and raw production. Together, they have supported a sound grounded in tradition while consistently exploring creative boundaries.
An important achievement in their development was the release of Danse Avec Les Loups, an acclaimed project featuring collaborations with prominent French artists, including 20SYL (of Hocus Pocus and C2C) and Black M (of Sexion d'Assaut). The album brought La Meute greater international recognition while remaining true to its underground principles.
DJ Ronsha, also based in Paris, is respected for his sharp production style and extensive musical knowledge. As the show's resident DJ and La Meute's main beatmaker, his carefully selected tracks and refined mixes give the programme its distinctive character. In addition to spotlighting classics, he frequently introduces new talent, reinforcing the culture's roots while supporting its evolution.
Together, DJ Ronsha and G-Zon have built more than just a radio show. They represent a movement. Through their work with La Meute, their live performances, and international collaborations, they continue to connect Hip-Hop fans across generations, ensuring the genre’s legacy and future remain intertwined.
The Boom Bap Show is now on a summer break from fresh releases, but DJ Ronsha & G-Zon continue to bring the heat with archive episodes packed full of raw Boom Bap, Underground Hip Hop, and timeless lyrical gems.
The episode kicks off with DJ Nor & DJ Flow’s intro, followed by Mika Dough’s No Mercy For The Weak featuring Ruste Juxx and DJ Grazzhoppa. This aggressive Boom Bap track blends Hardcore and East Coast grit, with Juxx's rugged flow cutting through tough drums and Grazzhoppa's sharp scratches. Flee Lord and Chase Fetti keep the street themes flowing on For The Leg, layering raw lyricism over dark loops. IDE and Lucky Loopiano’s Let Me Speak adds a stripped-down Underground flair, delivering sharp, observational rhymes.
JK1 The Supernova’s Helen Keller showcases a posse of lyricists in true Boom Bap style, while The Nemesis Two & Lee Ricks push it deeper into the Underground lane with Swarm. Indigo Phoenix leads a standout cut in Still Love Her, combining soulful loops with Tek of Smif-N-Wessun and Innocent?, fusing Jazz Rap and Conscious Hip Hop with cultural commentary. Postell Pringle’s Darlin' Nicki follows with theatrical storytelling, blurring the line between Hip Hop and poetic narration.
Midway through, the tone toughens with Stu Bangas and Blacastan’s 23 X 1, a militant track rich in Hardcore aesthetics. N.B.S. & Reks bring an international spin on Overseas, while Tanya Morgan adds a soulful edge with Resurrection, balancing positivity with lyrical finesse. Taiyamo Denku’s Family Matters featuring Che Noir delivers a potent Conscious message, her verse offering a grounded counterbalance to Denku’s rugged delivery.
The final stretch dives into rapid-fire lyricism and multi-MC assaults. Jamo Gang’s 38 Minutes brings in Sick Jacken and Slaine for a verbal barrage steeped in political awareness. Tone Spliff’s cuts on Luxury Poems by Freddie Black echo golden-era precision, while Miz Korona’s Respect The Name delivers a firm statement of identity and legacy. The closer, God’s Sympathy by Tru Trilla and DNA Beatz, rounds off the set with raw Boom Bap grit and reflective street wisdom.
