The Boom Bap Show, presented by DJ Ronsha and G-Zon, stands as one of the cornerstone programmes on Scientific Sound Asia. Devoted to preserving the authentic essence of Hip-Hop, the weekly broadcast delivers a finely curated blend of Boom Bap, Underground Hip-Hop, and Rap.
It has established itself as a platform for both legendary names and emerging talent, reinforcing Scientific Sound Asia’s reputation as a respected radio station, DJ agency, and event promoter, with a following that reaches across Asia and further afield.
G-Zon has been a prominent figure in the Paris rap scene since the 1980s, recognised for his contribution to the development of the French Boom Bap movement. His enduring collaboration with DJ Ronsha led to the creation of La Meute, a collective celebrated for its uncompromising lyricism and raw beats.
Their dedication to Hip-Hop’s roots has remained firm, while continuing to explore fresh directions and inspire new audiences. Among their notable achievements is Danse Avec Les Loups, an album featuring collaborations with French heavyweights including 20SYL (Hocus Pocus, C2C) and Black M (Sexion d’Assaut). The project extended La Meute’s reach internationally, while preserving its underground credibility.
Based in Paris, DJ Ronsha is widely respected for his precise production style and encyclopaedic understanding of music, curating each set to bridge the golden era of Hip-Hop with the present day. Together, DJ Ronsha and G-Zon have created more than a radio show; they have nurtured a movement that unites Hip-Hop enthusiasts across generations and cultures, ensuring the genre’s history and its future remain closely connected.
Boom Bap Show 56 opens with Macapella & Hus Kingpin on Purple Poetry before O.G. Spice takes it back with That’s My Old School. Doza The Drum Dealer & 100 Kufis bring raw storytelling on The Port, while L’undercover’s Relentless / Acharnés alongside Ruste Juxx ups the intensity. AMC Of Wildstyle follows with War Or Wisdom, and Marquee & Da Beatminerz bring classic East Coast flavour on Panties & Pistols. The set then sharpens with Gamblez Tha Lucky Bastard & B.B.Z Darney’s On Some Other Shit, reinforced by Mvck Nyce & Boom Bap Benny’s Money and Skinny Bonez Tha Godfatha’s Crossing Bridges.
Casshan & Fiendsh’s I’ve Always Hated You, Dear and Halfcut & Cole The God’s Cocaine & Vodka set a darker mood before Ghostface Killah returns in full form with Rap Kingpin. Guy Grams & Ray Sosa’s Champagne Dinners with Jay Royale & Raf Almighty keep the street focus strong, while Termanology & Melks’ Wild Puerto Ricans Pt. 2 brings Tony Touch and Ea$y Money to the front. Raf Almighty reappears with L’undercover on Fuck You, and Primo JAB & Hobgoblin turn up the lyricism on Resolute.
The second act heightens with K-Rec & 4-IZE’s Cypher Psychology featuring Megaton S.P. and Primo JAB, while MRKBH & Rico James remix Gladiators with Killah Priest. Filthy Heir keep it abstract on Envy, contrasting with Leedz Edutainment’s Bear The Burden featuring Reef The Lost Cauze, Akrobatik, and M-Dot. Perfect Pete aka Cuban Pete drops C U Next Tuesday before more frontline boom bap arrives with Chapo Da Monsta’s Exodus remix and Solo For Dolo & DW Underground’s Trauma Bonds.
Ghostface resurfaces alongside Styles P and Conway The Machine on Curtis May, showing heavyweight collaboration power. Van Gunz step in with Don’t Sleep, followed by Maine The Medicine & Holla Da Scholar’s Hate and Motman’s Setting Pace with Skinny Bonez Tha Godfatha.
