DJ Marco Mei, the veteran Italian DJ and producer behind Bicycle Corporation, returns with another instalment of his long-running radio show on Scientific Sound Asia. Broadcasting across Asia and to listeners worldwide, the station continues to champion underground electronic and urban music while supporting DJs, producers, and audiences through its platform, events, and DJ agency.

With more than three decades on the international circuit, Marco has earned a reputation for his genre-spanning sets that blend Afro-inspired rhythms, deep house grooves, and driving club energy. His deep musical knowledge and instinctive connection with the dancefloor have built him a loyal following across continents.

Marco began his career in the early 1990s in Turin, Italy, where he immersed himself in the underground club movement. Long nights spent in record stores and behind the decks refined his love for house, techno, and Afrobeat, leading to the creation of Urban People, a collective that became a defining force in Italy’s emerging electronic scene.

A major turning point came with his residency at Pacha in Sharm el-Sheikh, which brought him international exposure and a pathway to global venues such as Woo Bar in Bali, The Mansion in Shanghai, Fuse in Brussels, and The Observatory in Ho Chi Minh City.

In 2009, Marco joined forces with Italian producer Stefano Ugliano, also known as 6884, forming Bicycle Corporation. Together they have released more than fifty tracks and remixes across Deep House, Tech House, French House, and Techno, with appearances on respected labels including Alchemy, Miniatures, WL77, Suka, and GrooveTraxx.

Since relocating to Taipei in 2010, Marco has become a key figure in Taiwan’s underground community. His sets showcase a truly global perspective, blending eclectic influences while remaining rooted in the core traditions of house and techno.

As host of his acclaimed show on Scientific Sound Asia, Marco continues to present mixes that capture the vitality, emotion, and depth of his live performances. Each broadcast reflects his dedication to underground culture and his ability to connect with audiences across borders.

With decades of experience, a global outlook, and a continuing drive to evolve, Marco Mei remains a defining presence in house and techno. He is shaping the sound of the scene through his solo projects, Bicycle Corporation collaborations, and his ongoing radio journey on Scientific Sound Asia.

Episode 33 opens with Gotta Get That Money by Works Of Intent & Gray, a sharp Acid House cut that sets an underground tone. B-Side Girls by J. Maria and Oden & Fatzo’s Be The One introduce a playful blend of Lo-Fi House and modern Dance textures, while Fatboy Slim’s remix of Comfortably Numb and Ron Carroll’s Lucky Star (Jay Vegas Classic Disco Mix) bring the soulful, disco-charged warmth Marco is known for.

Momentum builds through club-ready selections like Ain’t Nobody by Mr. Belt & Wezol & RUZE and CASSIMM’s I’ll Take You There, with Eddie Amador and Carter’s Tech House layers adding a heavier rhythmic edge. Dance MF and Do You Want It Right Now (Bryson Hill Mix) bring back that Classic House spirit before Man With The Red Face by Disla shifts into Afro House, merging melody and percussion with finesse.

Midway through, Marco reconnects with pure House energy via The Way We Trip by Lex Wolf and Natura Umana by LP Giobbi & Alex Kennon, while Never Sax Enough (Iglesias Remix) keeps the tempo pulsing. Each transition flows naturally between soulful vocals, deep basslines, and vibrant percussion, creating a journey through house history and modern reinvention.

The finale captures a nostalgic flourish as Satisfied (Take Me Higher) by H20 featuring Billie and X-Press 2’s London X-Press (The Journey Continues) close the mix. The set ties together decades of influence — from the early roots of Classic Garage and Acid to today’s global Tech House sound — perfectly encapsulating Marco Mei’s refined, timeless club sensibility.

Be sure to catch DJ Marco Mei's live performance on Saturday, October 11th, 2025, from 6 to 8 PM Indochina Time (ICT). If you can't make it for the live airing, the replay is available on Wednesday from 6 to 8 AM ICT.
