Terence C joins Bicycle Corporation as guest DJ for episode 145 of Electronic Roots on Scientific Sound Asia. The platform operates as an Asian electronic music radio station, DJ agency and promoter, while also being a music news outlet and connecting audiences across the region and internationally.

Bicycle Corporation is the long-running collaboration between Italian DJ and producer Marco Mei and classically trained musician Stefano Ugliano, also known as 6884. Together, they combine decades of experience in electronic music, drawing upon backgrounds in house, techno and live musicianship to create a distinctive and evolving musical identity.

Marco Mei's journey began during the early years of Italy's underground electronic movement. Through his involvement with the Urban People collective, he became part of a generation helping shape independent house and techno culture before expanding his profile internationally through residencies and performances across Europe, Asia and the Middle East.

Stefano Ugliano developed his musical foundations through classical studies in piano, percussion and drums. Influenced by both traditional composition and global rhythmic traditions, he later channelled these influences into electronic music production, bringing a strong sense of arrangement and musicality to the Bicycle Corporation project.

Together, Marco and Stefano have built a catalogue that spans house, techno and deeper electronic styles while maintaining a commitment to underground music culture. Alongside their productions and live performances, they continue to use Electronic Roots as a platform to showcase a wide range of electronic sounds and artists from around the world.

Episode 145 continues this approach, bringing together Bicycle Corporation's broad musical perspective with the contribution of a respected guest from Asia's underground electronic music community. The result is another edition that reflects the programme's ongoing commitment to quality electronic music, thoughtful curation and international collaboration.

Guest DJ Terence C.

DJ Terence C joins Bicycle Corporation as the guest DJ for this edition of Electronic Roots on Scientific Sound Asia. The platform operates as an Asian electronic music radio station, DJ agency and promoter, while also publishing music news and connecting audiences across the region and internationally.

Originally from Malaysia and now based in Shanghai, Terence C has spent more than two decades building a respected reputation within Asia's underground electronic music scene. Known for his technical precision, thoughtful programming and deep understanding of dancefloor dynamics, he has become one of the region's most established house and techno selectors.

His influence on Kuala Lumpur's electronic music community has been significant, with a series of respected club residencies and long-running appearances helping shape the city's underground house and techno culture. Through carefully crafted sets and a consistent commitment to quality music, he developed a reputation for creating journeys that balance energy, groove and musical depth.

Throughout his career, Terence has shared line-ups with internationally renowned artists including David Morales, Fatboy Slim and Pete Tong. His appearances alongside John Digweed, particularly during Digweed's visits to Malaysia and performances at the legendary Zouk Club Kuala Lumpur, further cemented his standing within Southeast Asia's progressive and techno communities.

His professional journey began in 1998 under the guidance of DJ Chris Doss, leading to early performances at venues such as Cubeat and Globar. A breakthrough opportunity came when he supported David Morales during the house music legend's first appearance in Malaysia, opening the door to further bookings at respected venues including Movement, Backroom, Nouvo and Atmosphere. International appearances soon followed, including performances at Lush in Singapore and Liquid in Ho Chi Minh City.

In 2005, Terence co-founded Altered Image alongside Callen Tham and Digital, a multimedia project that combined electronic music, turntablism and visual performance. The concept gained wider attention after winning the Malaysian edition of the Heineken Thirst competition before touring throughout Southeast Asia.

Prior to the pandemic, he also co-founded We Love Techno with DJ XU, a successful event series dedicated to the harder and more driving sounds associated with labels such as Drumcode and Cocoon. The project became a recognised fixture within Kuala Lumpur's techno scene and demonstrated his ongoing commitment to underground electronic music culture.

In recent years, Terence C has continued evolving his performance style through hybrid DJ setups that combine traditional mixing techniques with Ableton Live integration. His ongoing Movement Control mix series reflects this progression, showcasing refined track selection, technical creativity and a contemporary approach to house and techno performance.

Alongside his DJ work, Terence remains active in the studio and continues developing new productions while maintaining a busy schedule of international radio appearances. His contribution to Electronic Roots reflects both his continuing evolution as an artist and his long-standing role in shaping underground electronic music culture across Asia.

Terence C opens the session with D. Diggler's Greenlight District, immediately setting a deep Techno atmosphere before Quivver's Jelly Dayz shifts the focus toward Progressive House. Roy Rosenfeld's Dubi introduces Afro House influences, while Three Less One featuring Olivia and Axel Boman bring Indie Dance energy through No Time For You and Spooky. Luka Sambe's Pink Hearts completes the opening section with warm Organic House textures.

The journey develops through Guy J's Piece Of Cake and Derderwandert's Unrestrained, combining Progressive House and Melodic House and Techno influences with flowing underground grooves. Rocco Rodamaal's House Jam introduces classic House energy before Zoo Brazil's Come On tightens the rhythm with a Tech House edge. Joe Miller and AMH In continue the Progressive House direction through Yggdrasil in the Jamie Stevens remix.

The latter half of the programme increases in intensity with D. Diggler's Heroes, delivering Peak Time Techno energy before Selderv's Anatomy Of Love restores a warmer House Music groove. Guy J's Selector and Yunus Güvenen's Space 6AM deepen the melodic atmosphere, balancing emotional progression with club-focused momentum.

D. Diggler returns with Phoenix, bringing another powerful Peak Time Techno moment before Chaim's Single Foot and Marvio's Kounte move the session back toward Melodic House and Techno. Aubrey Fry's Burn And Rave continues the Progressive House flow, while Tim Paris featuring Foremost Poets closes the main journey with the Indie Dance groove of That Boy in the Roman Flügel remix.

The episode concludes with Joe Miller and AMH In's Yggdrasil (Ambient Breaks Version), introducing a reflective Breakbeat ending that contrasts beautifully with the driving club rhythms heard earlier. Across the full programme, Terence C delivers a diverse exploration of Progressive House, Melodic House and Techno, Indie Dance and underground electronic music, highlighting artists such as Guy J, Quivver and D. Diggler while maintaining a cohesive journey throughout.
