French DJ and producer DJ King Flow returns with another instalment of his weekly show Mixtape Addict, showcasing a brand-new playlist and an exclusive guest interview with Tony Moxberg. Broadcast on Scientific Sound Asia, a Vietnam-based international radio station, music news outlet, event promoter, and DJ agency, the episode stays true to its roots in underground hip-hop and lyrical authenticity.
DJ King Flow started producing beats and curating mixtapes at the age of 14, quickly developing a sound that blends Boom Bap’s classic elements with a modern edge. His work reflects a deep respect for hip-hop culture and a sharp ear for lyrical talent, establishing him as a consistent force in the global underground scene.
Throughout his career, he has collaborated with iconic figures such as Ras Kass, Tragedy Khadafi, O.C., Juicy J, and Khujo Goodie, bridging old school and new school while staying committed to DJ culture and real rap values.
In 2015, he launched his hip hop radio show Mixtape Addict as a full platform for independent hip-hop. It has since grown to include The Mixtape Addict Report, a video interview series filmed across France, Canada, and the US, offering firsthand perspectives from MCs, DJs, and producers shaping the culture from the ground up.
This week’s episode features Yonkers MC Tony Moxberg, whose sharp rhymes and grounded storytelling reflect the spirit of New York’s underground. His interview adds insight into the grind of independent artistry while DJ King Flow curates another powerful mix of unfiltered, lyrical hip-hop.

Interview Guest: Tony Moxberg.
Tony Moxberg is a Yonkers, NY-born emcee whose gritty lyricism, independent hustle, and classic boom bap flair have earned him a respected position in the underground hip-hop community. He’s carved his lane over the past two decades, starting from bedroom mixtapes to shared studio time with heavyweights like Styles P, Sheek Louch, Jadakiss, Benny the Butcher, NEMS, Joell Ortiz, Jim Jones, and more
His 2021 EP Beautiful Struggle 3 marked a high point in his career, featuring collaborations with Jadakiss, Benny the Butcher, Sheek Louch, and more over rugged, soulful production from producers aligned with the classic D‑Block/Black Cloud Ent. sound. Tracks like Love (featuring those three MCs) and standout cuts such as It’s Like That, In My Bag, and Feel Me have resonated with hip-hop heads for their raw energy and lyrical clarity
More recently, singles like Run It Up featuring Benny the Butcher show he continues working with top-tier lyricists and maintaining that rugged East Coast vibe. His catalogue includes strong collaborations like In The Trenches (with NEMS and OT the Real) as well as remixes and reinterpretations of classic tracks, demonstrating his respect for hip-hop’s legacy and his ability to evolve it
Tony Moxberg stays connected to his audience through platforms like Instagram, SoundCloud, YouTube, and ReverbNation, where he shares music, freestyles, limited releases, and updates on upcoming events and collaborations. As a guest on our hip-hop radio show, expect insight into his creative journey, from Yonkers hustles and bedroom studios to collaborations with D‑Block legends, and hear his perspective on upholding boom bap tradition in today’s rap scene.
The 60th episode of Mixtape Addict by DJ King Flow kicks off with Tony Moxberg leading the charge alongside heavy hitters like Benny The Butcher and Jadakiss. Tracks like Run It Up and Beautiful Struggle exemplify modern East Coast Hip Hop with mafioso narratives, rugged beats, and tight lyrical chemistry. Reuben Vincent's collaboration with 9th Wonder keeps the momentum sharp with soulful Conscious Hip Hop vibes on Gotta Get It.
Paul Wall and DJ Fresh bring Southern flavour with Blantons Tonite, offering contrast before Lazarus and Rakim’s Not To Be Defined reintroduces weighty lyricism. K.A.A.N & DJ Hoppa’s Back To It delivers dense bars and jazzy production, while Evidence & The Alchemist’s Rain Every Season brings introspective Underground Hip Hop tones with minimalist beatcraft.
Deeper into the mix, East Coast veterans like Clipse & Nas emerge on Chandeliers, and Halfcut, Daniel Son & Str8 Trip keep it raw on Soul Ice. Redman’s Jersey and Joey Bada$$’ ABK nod to classic Boom Bap foundations, and Sympl MC returns with Lemonade and Gimme A Dollar, showcasing intelligent Lyrical Hip Hop layered with jazzy undertones.
The episode concludes with John Jigg$ & Butterknife Haircuts’ Teflonious Monk and Slick Rick & Nas on Documents, followed by a standout interview with Tony Moxberg. DJ King Flow celebrates the essence of hardcore hip hop through gritty production, timeless lyricism, and a commitment to underground artistry.
The interview opened with Tony Moxberg naming Funk Flex as his all-time favourite DJ, describing him as an icon and explaining how getting played on Hot 97 was a dream for artists from his era. He also praised Flex for continuing to support underground artists despite his major platform.
A key part of the conversation focused on mixtape culture. Tony reflected on the energy of waiting for a new tape to drop, travelling to Harlem, Manhattan or the Bronx to buy copies, and the feeling of seeing himself featured on mixtapes. He described that era as a different kind of battlefield for MCs, where artists had to prove their talent directly.
Tony also discussed why he does not think the mixtape format will fully return in its original form. He explained that streaming, playlists and the disappearance of CD players have changed the business, although he still sees value in limited physical releases and collector items. He spoke positively about direct-to-consumer models, saying artists can survive without major labels once they build a loyal cult following.
The interview then moved into fan relationships, with Tony explaining that he built his audience through consistency, shows, personal interaction and not acting too distant from supporters. He spoke about fans reaching out from Germany, Canada, London and other places, and said European hip hop audiences show a different kind of love for artists from the United States.
Tony described his music as being for underdogs, hustlers and people getting it out of the mud. He said the same D-Block-rooted music can connect with people from many different backgrounds, from workers with regular jobs to listeners in prison, because real music touches different lives.
Speaking on longevity, Tony said consistency, passion and love for the craft are essential. He also explained how being around D-Block and The LOX pushed him to keep improving, because working near artists of that calibre leaves no room for weakness. Their studio presence, touring experience and ongoing growth continue to motivate him.
Tony also reflected on the biggest challenge in his career, which has been adapting to the Internet and social media era. Coming from a hands-on background of CDs, clubs and direct networking, he admitted that the digital side is not his favourite part of the game, although he understands how important it is today.
For younger artists, Tony gave direct advice: stay consistent, prepare for obstacles and only pursue music if the passion is real. He stressed that success requires sacrifice, financial investment and years of work. He warned that no miracle is coming without effort, saying artists have to put in the groundwork before anyone else will invest in them.
The interview closed with Tony discussing upcoming music, including his single Run It Up with Benny The Butcher, a possible remix, records with Rick Ross, Jadakiss, Fat Joe, Sheek Louch and Ghostface, and the next instalment of The Beautiful Struggle. He described the project as making struggle look beautiful, turning difficulty into strength, wisdom and inspiration.
Tony ended by thanking his supporters worldwide and encouraging them to download Run It Up, follow him on Instagram and stay tuned for more music. He also mentioned a forthcoming record with UK French from London and Boss from France, with the possibility of travelling to Europe to shoot a video and connect with fans directly.
