French DJ and producer DJ King Flow returns with a new edition of Mixtape Addict, delivering a carefully curated exploration of underground hip hop. Broadcast via Scientific Sound Asia, the Vietnam -ased international radio station and promoter, the show continues to operate as a global platform for artists who uphold the core principles of hip hop culture.

DJ King Flow began his journey at the age of fourteen, shaping a sound deeply rooted in boom bap while embracing a contemporary perspective. His approach remains firmly connected to the foundations of 90s hip hop, yet always engaged with the present, consistently supporting emerging voices from across the underground.

This capacity to bridge generations has earned him respect from both listeners and artists worldwide, positioning him among the most trusted selectors within lyrical hip hop. Throughout his career, he has collaborated with influential figures such as Ras Kass, Tragedy Khadafi, O.C., Juicy J and Khujo Goodie, relationships that underline his long-standing commitment to preserving the genre’s lineage.

Since launching Mixtape Addict in 2015, DJ King Flow has developed the project into a recognised hub for independent artists, bringing together radio shows, interviews and mixtape releases that spotlight genuine talent and reinforce the strength of the underground community. Alongside his work as a selector, he continues to broaden his creative range as a producer.

His instrumental album The Adventures of F.J. Parker weaves together jazz-influenced melodies, soulful textures, deep grooves and the gritty character associated with classic hip hop production. His 2025 releases, including Money, Give the Town Some Hope and several forthcoming collaborations, reflect ongoing artistic development and a clear dedication to his craft.

Interview Guest: DJ Eclipse.

DJ Eclipse is a New York-based DJ, producer and radio host widely respected for his deep connection to classic boom bap and underground hip hop culture. Emerging during the golden era, he built his reputation through mixtapes, battle DJ work and a commitment to preserving the raw, sample-driven sound that defines East Coast tradition.

He is best known as one of the hosts of the long-running Rap Is Outta Control radio show on WBAI in New York, a platform that has consistently spotlighted independent artists, lyricists and producers while keeping the spirit of 90s hip hop alive. Through this role, Eclipse has become a key tastemaker and gatekeeper within the underground, regularly breaking new music and supporting emerging talent.

Beyond radio, he has worked extensively as a DJ and producer, contributing cuts, remixes and original tracks that maintain a gritty, no-nonsense aesthetic. His collaborations include work with artists such as Nas, Kool G Rap, M.O.P., and members of the wider New York underground scene, reinforcing his standing as a trusted collaborator.

Eclipse’s style is rooted in authenticity, technical skill and respect for hip hop’s foundations. Whether on radio, behind the turntables, or in the studio, his work consistently prioritises lyricism, culture and craftsmanship over trends.

Within the context of Mixtape Addict, DJ Eclipse represents the enduring influence of New York DJ culture and the importance of selectors who keep underground hip hop vibrant, relevant and uncompromised.

The episode opens with a reverent yet sharpened tone as DJ Eclipse reframes Life’s A Bitch, foregrounding drums and cuts while keeping Nas’s reflective essence intact. Clap Ya Handz follows as a pure DJ statement, establishing rhythmic authority before Coke Adds Life anchors the mix in stripped-back street Boom Bap.

Hit Different widens the palette, blending Buffalo and West Coast cadence, while My Daddy’s Watch introduces a contemplative thread centred on legacy and responsibility. The energy shifts as This Thing Of Ours injects muscular West Coast intensity, before The Rain and The Lord Gon Bless Us restore a darker, more introspective East Coast mood.

Not Allowed reinforces classic turntablism, and The Whole Shabang deepens the cinematic texture with dusty, minimalist loops. Topanga then balances mood and precision, leading into the reflective space of Winter’s Intro. Tension rises sharply with Divide & Conquer and 4 Deadly NY Sins, both rooted in militant drum patterns and uncompromising street narrative.

Miss Me keeps the pressure tight, followed by the cross-coastal aggression of Let It Be. The Pit & The Pendulum Part 2 pushes the atmosphere into darker territory through claustrophobic production and surgical cuts.

The final stretch leans into contemporary lyricism as Traffic blends technical performance with street realism. DJ King Flow’s interview with DJ Eclipse closes the hour by situating the music within broader DJ culture, crate tradition and the discipline required to keep Boom Bap vital. Episode 84 stands as a focused, DJ-centred statement that bridges golden-era craft with modern underground energy.

The live broadcast is set for Tuesday, February 2026, from 8 to 10 PM Indochina Time (ICT), with a replay on Saturday from 8 to 10 AM (ICT).
