French DJ and producer DJ King Flow returns with another instalment of Mixtape Addict, delivering a finely crafted selection of underground hip hop alongside an exclusive interview with Contageous Funk. Broadcast via Scientific Sound Asia, the Vietnam-based international radio station and DJ agency, the show continues to stand as a global platform for lyrical excellence, DJ craftsmanship, and authentic hip hop culture.
DJ King Flow began his career at just 14, developing a style deeply rooted in Boom Bap yet refined with a modern sensibility. His sets pay homage to hip hop’s golden age while championing the rising generation of underground artists, earning him respect from fans and peers worldwide.
Across the years, he has collaborated with legends such as Ras Kass, Tragedy Khadafi, O.C., Juicy J, and Khujo Goodie, bridging generations and keeping hip hop’s foundation alive. Since launching Mixtape Addict in 2015, he has grown it into a respected hub for independent hip hop, spotlighting real talent through radio shows, interviews, and mixtape releases.
As a producer, DJ King Flow continues to evolve creatively. His instrumental album The Adventures of F.J. Parker blends smooth jazz textures, deep house grooves, soulful R&B elements, and gritty hip hop beats. His newest 2025 productions, including Money, Give the Town Some Hope, and several upcoming collaborations with underground MCs, further show his expanding range and commitment to the craft.
This week’s guest, Contageous Funk, shares his journey as one of hip hop’s most dedicated lyricists, producers, and independent creatives. From Rockland County, New York, he began rhyming at just eight years old and has built a career grounded in authenticity, resilience, and hands-on artistry. Together, DJ King Flow and Contageous Funk deliver an episode that honours the craft, the message, and the lasting legacy of real hip hop.

Interview Guest: Contageous Funk.
Contageous Funk is a multi-talented hip-hop artist, producer, publisher and entrepreneur from Rockland County, New York. Known for his hands-on approach to music, he started rhyming at age eight, DJing at eleven and producing his own beats by sixteen.
From his early days of spinning vinyl at parties to building his own label infrastructure, he embodies the independent grind. Originally part of the group Ruff Edgz in his teens, Contageous Funk learned the business side of music early, working record label pick-ups, shopping demos and juggling production and lyrics while finishing his schooling.
He later enrolled at the Institute of Audio Research to refine his engineering skills, which equipped him with a deeper technical edge in the studio. His discography spans multiple independent releases.
Albums like Key 2 Life, Dedicated, Convict 2 Corporate and The Cure trace his evolution from hungry newcomer to established underground voice. More recently, his 2025 single No Way Out (and the 2022 track By Any Means) show that he’s still actively pushing forward, delivering bars about resilience, hustle and staying real in the game.
As a guest on the mixtape addict hip-hop show, Contageous Funk brings a perspective grounded in both creative craft and entrepreneurial hustle. Expect insights into beat-making, label-building, lyricism, and how to stay independent while navigating the modern hip-hop world.
Mixtape Addict 74 by DJ King Flow opens with a powerful trio from Contageous Funk. His rugged New York influence sets the tone immediately, blending street urgency with decisive, focused flows. Fashawn and Sir Veterano follow with their unmistakable West Coast craftsmanship, expanding the sound while keeping the core Boom Bap pulse alive. Jay Exodus and Ill Conscious drive the energy harder with pointed lyricism and darker textures.
Midway through the set, the mix shifts into heavier Southern flavours. Peezy and Rick Ross glide across polished trap production, while Slim Thug and Lil Keke deliver unmistakable Houston rhythms. Big KRIT ties the section together with soulful storytelling rooted in the South's classic sound. Project Pat’s appearance on Survivor adds Memphis grit that reinforces the regional contrast in the flow of the mix.
The underground edge returns strongly with Obleak, Outcastgawd, Lord El and J Vengeance pushing sharp, metallic tones and raw aggression. Ransom’s collaboration with Conductor Williams takes things into philosophical territory, paired with haunting drumless loops. Nine and Ruste Juxx bring the energy back to straight combative Boom Bap, laying foundations before the final climb.
As the mix show reaches its peak, Boldy James and Nicholas Craven deliver smoky minimalism and street reflection. DJ Muggs, Cynic and Crimeapple close the set with psychedelic rawness, switching between abstract flows and bilingual bars. It creates a cinematic ending, setting the stage for the featured interview and rounding off a session rich in style, depth and underground authenticity.
The live broadcast is scheduled for Wednesday, November 18, 2025, from 8 PM to 10 PM Indochina Time (ICT), with a replay planned for Saturday from 8 AM to 10 AM (ICT).
