Terence C joins Bicycle Corporation as guest DJ for episode 144 of Electronic Roots on Scientific Sound Asia. The platform operates as an underground electronic music radio station, DJ agency and promoter based in Asia with an international audience, supporting electronic music culture through radio broadcasts, events and artist collaborations that connect scenes across the region and beyond.

Bicycle Corporation is the long-running collaboration between Italian DJ and producer Marco Mei and classically trained musician Stefano Ugliano, also known as 6884. Together, they combine backgrounds in house and techno to create music that balances dancefloor energy with melodic depth, drawing from both club culture and broader musical influences.

Marco Mei’s journey began during the early 1990s within Italy’s emerging underground electronic scene. Influenced by Afro-inspired rhythms and underground house culture, he became closely connected to the Urban People collective, helping shape independent club events before later securing a defining residency at Pacha in Sharm El Sheikh, Egypt. This period expanded his international profile and led to performances across Europe, Asia and the Middle East.

Stefano Ugliano, born and raised in Turin, developed his musical foundation through classical studies in piano, percussion and drums. Influenced by composers such as Chopin alongside the rhythmic traditions of West African djembe music, he built a strong understanding of harmony, arrangement and rhythm before transitioning into electronic production and sound design.

Together, Marco Mei and Stefano Ugliano continue evolving Bicycle Corporation through productions, collaborations and radio broadcasts while maintaining a clear connection to underground electronic music culture. Electronic Roots reflects this philosophy through carefully curated selections spanning house, techno and deeper electronic styles while regularly featuring guest artists from Asia and the wider international scene.

Episode 144 welcomes Malaysian DJ Terence C, whose long-standing presence within Asia’s underground electronic community brings an experienced and groove-focused perspective to the series. Known for blending house, techno and progressive influences with refined musical flow, his contribution adds further depth to a session centred on rhythm, atmosphere and underground club culture.

DJ Terence C, the Malaysian DJ and producer now based in Shanghai, features in this week’s edition of Electronic Roots on Scientific Sound Asia. With more than two decades of experience behind the decks, he remains widely respected across Asia’s underground electronic music community for his technical precision, refined musical selection and consistent approach to club culture.

A significant figure within Kuala Lumpur’s electronic music landscape, Terence played an important role in shaping the city’s house and techno scene through a series of influential residencies and long-running club appearances. His ability to read dancefloors, maintain smooth transitions and build controlled energy helped establish a strong reputation within the regional underground circuit.

Over the years, he has shared stages with internationally recognised artists including David Morales, Fatboy Slim and Pete Tong. His appearances alongside John Digweed, particularly as tour support during Digweed’s Malaysian shows at Zouk Club Kuala Lumpur, further reinforced his standing within Southeast Asia’s progressive and techno community.

Before the pandemic, Terence co-founded We Love Techno alongside DJ XU, a monthly event series dedicated to driving techno influenced by labels such as Drumcode and Cocoon. The project quickly became one of Kuala Lumpur’s more established techno-focused events, helping bring renewed energy to the local scene while reflecting his continued commitment to underground electronic music.

His DJ journey began in 1998 under the mentorship of DJ Chris Doss, leading to early performances at venues including Cubeat and Globar. A major breakthrough followed when he supported David Morales during the artist’s first appearance in Malaysia, opening opportunities for further bookings at respected clubs such as Movement, Backroom, Nouvo and Atmosphere. Regional appearances soon followed with performances at venues including Lush in Singapore and Liquid in Ho Chi Minh City.

In 2005, he co-founded Altered Image alongside Callen Tham and Digital, a multimedia concept combining electronic music, turntablism and live visual performance. The project gained wider recognition after winning the Malaysian edition of the Heineken Thirst competition before touring across Southeast Asia.

In more recent years, Terence has expanded into hybrid DJ performance setups, integrating traditional mixing techniques with Ableton Live to create more fluid and adaptable performances. His Movement Control mix series continues reflecting this evolution, with recent editions showcasing detailed track selection, controlled progression and a modern approach to underground house and techno.

Alongside ongoing studio work and international radio appearances, Terence C remains an active and respected figure within Asia’s underground electronic music scene. His appearance on Electronic Roots reflects both his evolving musical direction and his long-standing contribution to electronic music culture across the region.

Terence C opens Eletronic Roots 144 with Funk D’Void and Alex Clavijo’s Til The End, immediately establishing a groove-led underground atmosphere before John Tejada’s The Innocents introduces deeper melodic textures. Danny Parton’s Know Body brings a warmer House rhythm into the early section, while Adrian Roman alongside Baime shift the mood toward Indie Dance through Triptico in the Aera remix.

Jepe and Bar.ba continue the flowing atmosphere with Sunny, balancing Deep House warmth with laid-back groove structures. Apste’s Contextual and Frankey with Sandrino’s Matar then guide the mix firmly into Melodic House and Techno territory, building layered melodic progression and rolling percussion.

The middle section develops through FAE (IT), Booka Shade and Michael Mayer, where tracks such as Not Welcome, Your Command in the Paul Kalkbrenner remix and Cry Me A Raver maintain a driving melodic atmosphere. Josh Wink’s classic I’m Ready in the Marco Faraone remix alongside Ralph Falcon’s Break You in the Radio Slave remix increase the intensity with darker Peak Time Techno energy.

Stefan Helmke and Remcord restore the melodic direction through No Name in the Lake People remix before Raxon’s Never Stops continues the hypnotic groove. Hot Since 82’s Paper Walls and Sasha with Cortese’s One maintain the emotional melodic flow while keeping the set rooted in underground club culture.

The closing stretch moves toward Progressive House through Christian Smith’s Follow Me and Quivver’s Keep On Runnin’, both adding deeper atmospheric progression. Derderwandert’s Diego Armando introduces another Indie Dance moment before Tomas GC and Alex Mendes return the focus to Melodic House and Techno. Rocco Rodamaal closes the session with Summer Rising, ending the episode with a smooth House groove after a journey through melodic, progressive and underground electronic sounds.

Tune in to the live broadcast on Wednesday, May 13th, 2026, between 6 PM and 8 PM Indochina Time (ICT), and catch the replay on Sunday from 6 AM to 8 AM (ICT).
