Bicycle Corporation introduce guest DJ Sivanesh for Electronic Roots episode 19. The show is broadcast on Scientific Sound Asia, the Asian online electronic music station, promoter and DJ agency connecting artists and audiences across the region and internationally.
Bicycle Corporation is the Italian duo formed by DJ and producer Marco Mei together with Stefano Ugliano, also known as 6884. Marco began his musical journey in the early 1990s, developing his skills as a DJ and producer within Italy’s emerging underground scene.
He went on to organise his own events under the Urban People collective, hosting nights across Italy that helped build his reputation as a selector. This led to a residency at the global club brand Pacha, which opened the door to international bookings and marked the beginning of his wider touring career.
Stefano Ugliano, also raised in Turin, showed strong musical ability from an early age. He studied classical piano, percussion and drums, developing a broad understanding of rhythm and composition. Influenced both by classical music and the percussive sound of instruments such as the West African djembe, he built a foundation that would later shape his approach to electronic music.
As electronic music gained momentum during the 1990s, Stefano became increasingly drawn to DJ culture. At a time when these sounds were not widely available on Italian radio, he discovered them through records and underground events, which inspired him to begin experimenting with production and DJing.
When Marco Mei and Stefano Ugliano joined forces, Bicycle Corporation was formed, combining their musical backgrounds and shared passion for electronic music. Through projects such as Electronic Roots, they continue to explore a wide range of influences while presenting carefully curated selections that reflect their journey through electronic music culture.

Guest DJ Sivanesh.
This week’s guest is DJ Sivanesh, a key figure in Singapore’s nightlife who has played an important role in shaping the city’s club sound. He is best known for his residency at CÉ LA VI at the Marina Bay Sands Hotel, where he regularly commanded the main room with a style that blends off-centre house grooves and driving, heads-down techno.
During this period, he shared line-ups with artists including Chaos In The CBD, d’Julz, Dennis Ferrer, Jasper James, Okain, Oliver Dollar and Rampa. Influenced early on by American producers Mood II Swing, Sivanesh developed a sound rooted in rhythm and soul rather than strict genre boundaries.
While house music remains at the core of his identity, his approach is guided by quality and musical depth, allowing him to move fluidly across styles. This perspective led to his selection by Cercle to warm up for their debut Asia event featuring The Martinez Brothers in November 2019.
Before the pause in nightlife across Asia in 2020, Sivanesh was a regular presence at many of Singapore’s leading venues, including The Council, Tanjong Beach Club and Kilo Lounge. His appearance at Wonderfruit Festival in Thailand in 2019 further expanded his regional profile, leading to bookings in Kuala Lumpur at venues such as W Hotel and Iron Fairies.
After several years building connections across the regional scene, he stepped away from his residency at CÉ LA VI in 2020 to begin a new project with his partner Lilian Hautemulle. Together they launched Sivilian Affairs, an organisation focused on intimate events that highlight local and regional talent, with particular attention given to underrepresented artists.
Despite ongoing changes in the live music scene, Sivanesh continues to grow his presence in electronic music. His approach remains centred on musical integrity and connection, maintaining a balance between groove, depth and unpredictability while continuing to evolve as both a DJ and curator.
Electronic Roots 19 with DJ Sivanesh opens with a strong foundation in House Music as Magic Of The City in the Kerri Chandler remix sets a warm, groove-led tone. This direction continues through Emancipation and Take 5, where classic house rhythms meet refined production. Dream Machine and Maybe I Did Burn Ya Place expand the palette with deeper textures, blending soulful elements with contemporary underground energy.
The mix settles into a deeper and more hypnotic flow with Love It, Dub It in Fred Everything’s remix and Catch Me If You Can in the Huerta remix. These selections maintain a steady low-end groove while introducing subtle melodic movement. Tracks such as Sensational and Global Lights add a modern edge, while Goose and Oli Coony continue the deep house and minimal direction with restrained, rolling rhythms.
The middle section explores more experimental territory. Liquid Acrobatics and Sandal Acid bring electro and acid influences, while Ekpyrosis and 14A1 introduce a darker, more stripped-back techno aesthetic. Xumba Xumba in the Eden Burns remix and Chale add rhythmic variation, blending house with global and leftfield elements.
The closing stretch returns to groove-led house with Take A Leap Of Faith and Lounge Wizard, both maintaining a steady club focus. ASMR and the Borrowed Identity remix of Conscious Of My Conscience deepen the atmosphere, while Get Down closes the session with a raw, underground feel. Episode 19 presents a cohesive journey through house, deep tech house and techno, balancing classic influences with modern underground sounds.
