Spiritual Viking published the playlist for his tenth show on Scientific Sound Asia. The platform operates as an Asian underground electronic music radio station for Japan, Vietnam, China, India and international audiences, alongside its work as a DJ agency, promoter and music news outlet.

Spiritual Viking, real name Trevor Peterson, is a Canadian DJ from Montreal. His connection with Techno began in 1999, shaped by the city’s club and after-hours culture during a key period for electronic music.

At the age of 20, he was strongly influenced by Montreal’s nightlife and the weekly gatherings at SONA Afterhours Club. The venue introduced him to international artists and helped form the foundations of his sound.

During that era, Montreal hosted major electronic music figures including Tiesto, Carl Cox, John Digweed, Josh Wink and Richie Hawtin. Those artists became lasting reference points for Spiritual Viking’s musical direction and DJ style.

He first learned to mix using the classic setup of Technics SL-1200 turntables and a Vestax mixer. Living in a loft on St Laurent Street placed him close to many of Montreal’s clubs and nightlife spaces.

Around the turn of the millennium, he played regularly at Quattro Supper Club every Friday and SHED Café every other Saturday. These appearances gave him early exposure within Montreal’s nightlife scene and strengthened his connection with club culture.

That period also brought personal difficulties, as his involvement in the scene became tied to drug and alcohol problems. In 2009, he entered rehabilitation and began rebuilding his life with a renewed sense of direction.

By 2013, Spiritual Viking returned to DJing and reconnected with the music that had first inspired him. He began sharing his sound again in Montreal, performing regularly at local bars and clubs.

His tenth show on Scientific Sound Asia presents another selection shaped by Techno and underground electronic music. Further music and mixes can be followed through his SoundCloud, where his selections document his work as Spiritual Viking.

Spiritual Viking presents episode 10 on Scientific Sound Asia, with an archive mix focused on Techno, Deep Techno, Hard Techno and Peak Time Techno. The episode features music from Planetary Assault Systems, Cleric, Dax J, Slam, Arnaud Le Texier, Yan Cook, Radial and Keith Carnal.

November Reign opens with Magoa and Stellar Love, setting a direct Techno foundation before Dnel and Harald continue with Shaker and Bad Hair Day. Arnaud Le Texier then moves the set towards Deep Techno with Step, followed by Adoo’s Change The Bass and These Shapes’ Abilities in the Vyn-1 remix.

Robert Stehl’s Sigmund in the K-Mel remix and Vegim’s She Walks In My Shoes keep the rhythm centred on Techno. Planetary Assault Systems then adds a key reference with Mugwort, bringing Luke Slater’s long-running Techno project into the middle of the episode.

November Reign returns with Solarburst before M.I.C.R.O’s Fist Of Steel pushes the mix towards Hard Techno. Matt Ess and Corvis follow with Contract 88, while Raar’s Le Sacrifice Moral keeps the pressure firm.

Cleric and Dax J provide one of the harder points with The Triangle, connecting the episode to the rawer side of underground Techno. Slam’s Convection, Berg Jaar’s Dai and Ferdinger’s Spiegelreflex then maintain the dense club direction through the central section.

Setaoc Mass’ True Lies and Arnaud Le Texier’s Continuum bring the show back into Deep Techno, using more hypnotic structures and darker rhythmic detail. Cleric’s Tag X and Hefty’s War On Terror then shift the emphasis again, linking Hard Techno with a broader Techno framework.

Yan Cook’s Buran adds a Peak Time Techno turn, followed by Keikari’s Hukkua, KR with Chronic and Radial’s Maius. Shkedul’s Discontinuo in the Dotwax remix, Hellboy’s Recovery in the Spiros Kaloumenos remix and Keith Carnal’s Neo-Noir close episode 10 with a hard, late-set finish.
