Bicycle Corporation unveils episode 147 of their Electronic Roots series on Scientific Sound Asia. Scientific Sound Asia operates as an Asian electronic music radio station, music news outlet, DJ agency and promoter connecting regional and international audiences.
Bicycle Corporation is the collaboration between Italian DJ and producer Marco Mei and multi-instrumentalist Stefano Ugliano, also known as 6884. Since forming the project, the duo have developed a catalogue of more than fifty releases and remixes across electronic styles including Deep House, Tech House, French House and Techno.
Marco Mei began his career in the early 1990s during the rise of Italy’s House and Techno movement. As a founding member of the Urban People collective, he played an active role in organising events across the country and helped shape local club culture.
This period laid the groundwork for his development as a DJ, eventually leading to international bookings and a residency at Pacha in Sharm el-Sheikh. From there, he expanded his reach across Europe and Asia, performing at clubs and festivals while building a style rooted in groove, depth and versatility.
Stefano Ugliano was born and raised in Turin, where he developed a strong musical background through classical piano, percussion and drums. His early influences ranged from composers such as Chopin to the rhythmic structures of West African percussion.
Despite this traditional training, he became increasingly drawn to electronic music and the role of the DJ. At a time when underground sounds were not widely accessible through Italian radio, production gave him a way to explore those influences and shape a distinct musical identity.
When Marco and Stefano joined forces, Bicycle Corporation emerged as a project built on shared experience and complementary skills. Their productions have been released on labels including Alchemy, Miniatures, WL77, GrooveTraxx, Suka and Revox, gaining support from DJs across the international circuit.
Alongside their studio output, the duo remain active through radio and live performances as part of the Scientific Sound Asia roster. In recent years, they have also revisited earlier material through Bandcamp, keeping a clear connection to their roots while staying active within the electronic music community.
Electronic Roots 147 presents another entry in a series shaped by the duo’s long-running interest in underground electronic music. The episode connects their studio background, DJ experience and wider work with Scientific Sound Asia’s regional and international audience.
