Cali’s HouseNation Radio returns this Saturday on Scientific Sound Asia, hosted by DJ Nocturne of Digital Audio Kingz. This week’s broadcast opens with a guest takeover from Playroom Takeover, before Nocturne steps in for the second hour.
Originally from Los Angeles, Nocturne began his DJ career in 2007 under the name DJ Turiz, performing across reggaeton, hip hop, and a wide range of Latin styles, including bachata, merengue, salsa, and cumbia. His ability to read the room and drive dancefloors with precision quickly earned him recognition throughout the Southern California club circuit.
In 2013, his move into electronic music marked a turning point, leading to the co-founding of Digital Audio Kingz alongside DJ MORE and regular FM radio appearances. By 2018, he adopted the Nocturne alias and launched Cali’s HouseNation Radio, a house and dance-focused programme that has since expanded globally through the CHNR Syndication Network.
Now based in San Diego while remaining closely connected to Los Angeles, Nocturne continues to develop his sound through projects such as On the Deep End, exploring deeper progressive and melodic territory, alongside his Deep House Sessions under the DAK Music banner. His work remains centred on groove, emotion, and the unifying energy that defines house music culture.
With Playroom Takeover setting the pace in the first hour and Nocturne guiding the journey home, this week’s edition of Cali’s HouseNation Radio delivers a fluid and dancefloor-focused selection of contemporary house music on Scientific Sound Asia.

Guest DJs The Playroom.
The Playroom joins Cali’s HouseNation Radio as guest selectors, bringing a weekly house music mixshow curated by Los Angeles–based DJs BASEKIT and Jungle George. Their regular show delivers a focused one-hour journey through house music, moving fluidly between tech-driven grooves, bass-led rhythms, Nu Disco, Tribal, and Latin-influenced house.
At its core, The Playroom is built on selection and flow. Each episode is shaped around rhythm, pacing, and musical continuity, prioritising groove and dancefloor functionality over trends or excess. The result is a stripped-back but expressive approach that stays true to house music’s underground roots while remaining current and forward-moving.
BASEKIT is the creator and driving force behind The Playroom. Known for deep, narrative-led sets, his approach reflects a strong understanding of progression and mood, drawing from classic house foundations while maintaining a modern club sensibility. His curation forms the backbone of the show’s sound and direction.
Jungle George brings decades of experience from Los Angeles’ club scene. Having developed his musical grounding at the iconic DMC record store on Melrose Boulevard, he went on to win the Powertool Radio Show Champion title and has held residencies and performances at venues including Florentine Gardens and clubs across the city. His selections add historical depth and a seasoned dancefloor perspective to the mix.
Together, BASEKIT and Jungle George deliver a weekly session that reflects the past, present, and future of house music culture. Their contribution to Cali’s HouseNation Radio reinforces the station’s commitment to authentic, groove-driven house music with global roots and a strong connection to the dancefloor.
The opening hour from Playroom sets a vibrant tone rooted in Jackin House and modern House energy. Tracks like We’re Gonna Party and In My Soul establish a rolling groove early on, before Tech House cuts such as The Sound The Vibe and Yellow Wave push the mix firmly toward the dancefloor. Latin flavour is woven naturally through selections like Gosadeera and La Samba, adding warmth and movement without breaking the flow.
As the set progresses, classic House sensibilities come to the forefront. Baby Wants To Disco and You Take Me Higher inject feel-good vocals and disco-informed rhythms, while Got The Funk and Time To Move keep the momentum tight and uplifting. The first hour closes with crossover appeal, as At Night delivers a timeless club moment that bridges underground House with wider dancefloor energy.
DJ Nocturne takes control in the second hour, opening with a smoother, deeper approach. Talk To Me and So Good introduce Deep House textures and warm basslines, before vocal-driven House selections like Music Saved My Life and I Want To Thank You add soul and emotion. This section leans into groove, musicality and atmosphere rather than peak-time pressure.
The closing stretch balances modern House and Tech House precision. Tracks such as Bring It Back, Detained, and Flexin sharpen the energy, while Feels Like Summer and Love You maintain a melodic, feel-good finish. Episode 300 captures the full spirit of Cali’s HouseNation Radio, blending Jackin House, Tech House, Latin rhythms and Deep House into a confident, dancefloor-ready two-hour journey.
Join the live broadcast of the show on Saturday, January 3rd, from 4 PM to 6 PM Indochina Time (ICT). If you miss the live airing, you can tune in again on Wednesday from 4 AM to 6 AM (ICT).
