Cali’s HouseNation Radio returns this Saturday on Scientific Sound Asia, hosted by DJ Nocturne of Digital Audio Kingz. This week’s episode opens with a set from Nocturne before passing the decks to Chicago-based DJ Seven Chicago, who delivers a guest mix filled with groove, rhythm, and uplifting house energy.

Nocturne, originally from Los Angeles, began his DJ career in 2007 performing as DJ Turiz, moving fluidly between reggaeton, hip hop, and Latin genres such as bachata, merengue, salsa, and cumbia. His dynamic energy and versatility quickly earned him recognition across Southern California’s nightlife, where he became known for reading the crowd and keeping the dancefloor alive.

In 2013, he shifted his focus to electronic music, co-founding Digital Audio Kingz with DJ MORE and gaining regular FM radio airtime. By 2018, he rebranded as Nocturne and launched Cali’s HouseNation Radio, a house and dance mix series that has since become a globally syndicated show through the CHNR Syndication Network.

Now based in San Diego while maintaining strong ties to Los Angeles, Nocturne continues to expand his creative scope through projects such as On the Deep End, which explores deep, progressive, and melodic house and techno, alongside his Deep House Sessions under DAK Music. His work reflects an ongoing mission to share the warmth and unity of house music with audiences around the world.

With Nocturne’s refined sound and DJ Seven bringing his distinctive house style to the mix, this week’s Cali’s HouseNation Radio promises a vibrant journey through the many layers of modern house music.

This weeks guest DJ Seven Chicago, born in the heart of Chicago, Illinois, emerged as a dynamic force in the city’s vibrant music scene, carving his niche with an electrifying blend of electronic beats and rhythms. From an early age, Seven was drawn to the pulsating sounds of the underground, where house music ran through the city’s veins and shaped his musical journey.

In 1994, Seven established his imprint on the United States, captivating audiences at underground events and venues across the country. His relentless dedication to his craft and commitment to pushing boundaries cemented his status as a pioneering figure in the house music scene.

Beyond the DJ booth, Seven’s creativity extends to the studio, where he has collaborated with respected artists and producers to craft genre-defying tracks that blur the lines between traditional styles. His productions have appeared on renowned labels such as S&S Records, Trax Records, Gaia Recordings, and WhiteBeard, earning critical acclaim for their energy, authenticity, and innovation.

His most recent work continues this legacy, with What A Rush released in May 2025 on Blackliquid Music, delivering pure Chicago energy through driving jackin rhythms and soulful groove. Earlier in the year, Sneak Up On It featuring RoseRed highlighted his talent for fusing deep house soul with vocal-led dynamics, while his Give You All My Love (2024 Remixes) EP on S&S Records reaffirmed his versatility and connection to the roots of the genre.

DJ Seven Chicago’s career is further defined by his membership in the trio Jackers of the Midway, alongside legendary artists DJ D3RKIN and Steve Poindexter. Together, they continue to push the boundaries of house and tech house through innovative performances and studio projects.

Throughout his journey, DJ Seven Chicago has remained dedicated to elevating house music culture, uniting audiences through rhythm, groove, and emotion. With each new release and performance, he continues to honour the legacy of Chicago house while shaping its future on dance floors around the world.

The first hour opens with DJ Nocturne bringing a polished fusion of dance and electro-pop, setting a lively tone with London Grammar and SG Lewis before Kevin McKay’s soaring mainstage rework takes flight. Cedric Gervais and David Guetta layer euphoric chords over club-ready beats, while Calvin Harris’s edit and Issac Frank’s remix push melodic hooks against smooth rhythmic foundations. The set gradually deepens as Hilit Kolet and Fleur Shore guide the groove into a warm house flow that welcomes crisp drums and deeper tones.

Midway, DJ Nocturne’s energy turns more underground. Harvard Bass and Kristin Velvet deliver classic house grit, paving the way for a tech-house stretch powered by Mike Morrisey, RSquared and Max Ross. Michele Arcieri’s percussive flair and Soultight’s subtle funk keep the movement fluid, before Funky Destination’s nu-disco closer ties the hour together with a bright, retro sparkle and soulful bounce.

In the second half, DJ Seven Chicago picks up with a distinctly Latin charge. Ralphi Rosario and 8 Flapjackers anchor the vibe with lively house rhythms, followed by Afro House textures from Lacra and playful tech grooves from Gameroloco and HÄWK’s VIP Edit of Shakira. Jesus Fernandez’s Latin Tech momentum and DJ Slider’s re-work of La Bamba carry the festive mood into a seamless blend of funk and rhythm, keeping the crowd lifted.

As DJ Seven Chicago steers toward his finale, Armand Van Helden and The Cube Guys stir tribal house percussion while DJ Seven’s own Sonando El Rocer Mi Amor infuses jackin house swing. Classic influences from CZR and El Norepa meet the driving techno of David Moleon and Da Wiz’s Ghetto House edge, closing with Vicente Fernandez’s Volver Volver recast as an irresistible Latin House anthem. Cali’s HouseNation Radio 296 celebrates the fusion of cultures and house sub-styles that define the show’s signature energy on Scientific Sound Asia.

Join the live broadcast of the show on Saturday, November 8th, from 4 PM to 6 PM Indochina Time (ICT). If you miss the live airing, you can tune in again on Wednesday from 4 AM to 6 AM (ICT).
