Ezmun announces tracklists and guest DJ for 'Cooking With Gas' 03.

Ezmun has announced the guest DJ and tracklist for Cooking With Gas episode 03, broadcast on Scientific Sound Asia. The station continues to operate as an English-language underground electronic music platform, promoter and DJ agency serving expatriate and local audiences across Asia and internationally.

Cooking With Gas is Ezmun’s weekly outlet for percussive, groove-led and darker club sounds. Episode 03 unfolds as a tightly paced one-hour journey, moving from slow, wobbling low-end rhythms into leftfield bass before pushing toward darker techno territory. The final 50 minutes are taken over by a guest mix from Tony McBride.

Tony McBride, also known on Mixcloud as Slowpony, is a DJ from Carlisle in the United Kingdom with roots that stretch back to childhood. He began mixing at the age of ten on his first set of belt-drive turntables and has remained deeply involved in his local scene ever since. Alongside DJing, he has organised events across Cumbria and supported a range of artists, including Todd Terry at Culture, as well as performing at the well-known Solfest festival.

Tony’s guest mix for Cooking With Gas is a lively and confident exploration of house and techno, reflecting his broad taste and long-standing experience behind the decks. His approach balances groove and momentum while keeping a strong focus on dancefloor flow.

Ezmun, originally from Cumbria, is now closely linked with Vietnam’s underground scene, where he continues to develop his ambitions as both DJ and producer. After temporarily relocating to Melbourne during the COVID period, he maintains a weekly broadcast that showcases his favourite sounds and ongoing musical direction.

Like many DJs, Ezmun’s journey began in his bedroom, progressing through house parties with close friends before breaking into clubs in 2019. Since then, he has played venues across Manchester, Hanoi, Laos and Ho Chi Minh City. His sound draws heavily on minimal half-time rhythms, dark atmospheres and the clatter of percussive leftfield bass, using tension and release to shape energetic techno-leaning sets.

As Cooking With Gas continues to grow, Ezmun’s crossover from intimate settings to wider underground stages has not gone unnoticed. Episode 03 reinforces the show’s identity as a space for darker, forward-thinking club music while spotlighting guest selectors connected to the same underground ethos.

Ezmun opens Cooking With Gas 3 with a leftfield, rhythm-focused approach, easing in through Down The Line and Pull My Heart Away, where electronic textures and stripped-back house grooves set a loose but purposeful tone. Bass-driven cuts like Bussboy and Footprints In Solid Rock push the energy forward while maintaining a raw, percussive feel.

The first half continues to build with club-ready selections such as Picazón and Black Mamba, bridging Afro-influenced rhythms and tech house propulsion. As the mix moves deeper, Higher and Long Ago introduce darker momentum, transitioning smoothly into driving techno with I Am and Don’t Dream.

Tony McBride takes over for the final stretch, beginning with a more hypnotic and spacious mood. Tracks like A213 and Be lean into house and deep house sensibilities before tightening the focus with bass-heavy club tools, including Stifle and Forgotten Tales.

The closing run intensifies with peak-time pressure from Glock & Roll, Automatic, and Dont Stop No Sleep, before descending into deeper territory via Focal and Forward. The episode concludes with Underripe, bringing the journey full circle with a reflective electronic finish that balances experimentation and dancefloor intent.
