Ezmun has announced the guest DJ Tony Mcbride and their track lists for 'Cooking With Gas' 03 on this Sunday the 10th of May 2020 10 PM to 12 AM Indochina Time (ICT) and repeating on Thursday 10 AM to 12 PM (ICT). Scientific Sound Asia is the Expat and local English language electronic music radio station for Vietnam, Thailand, India, Sri Lanka, The Philippines and the rest of Asia.
Cooking With Gas - The weekly dose of all things percussive, groovy and dark; curated by Ezmun. This week's 1 hour mix moves from slow wobbly beats through leftfield bass into darker techno. The last 50 minutes will be occupied by a guest mix from Tony Mcbride, a DJ hailing from Carlisle UK.
A man who has been mixing since he got his first set of belt drives at age 10, he has been on the scene for years organising several across the county, as well as supporting several promising artists including the legendary Todd Terry at culture and playing at the popular Cumbrian festival Solfest. You can find him on Mixcloud under the name Slowpony where he showcases a diverse collection of sounds in his mixes. Tony is a talented disc jockey behind the decks, and his mix is a lively exploration of House and Techno.
Ezmun is originally from Cumbria in the United Kingdom, he has recently relocated to Vietnam to grow his music ambitions both as a DJ and producer. Unfortunately, Covid forced him to temporarily relocate to Melbourne, from here he will release a weekly show pushing his favourite sounds. Ezmun, like many DJs started off in his bedroom and this led to house parties involving close friends and cohorts.
Fast Forward to 2019 and he finally made his breakthrough into clubs, playing venues in Manchester, Hanoi, Laos and Ho Chi Minh City. Enamoured with the dark sparse atmosphere of minimal half time 140s and the clatter of percussive leftfield bass, he implements these as peaks and troughs in an energetic techno setting.
Although Ezmun is still honing his art, his transgression between playing for friends and enlightening the stage at venues locally has not gone unnoticed and he is slowly gaining notoriety amongst the underground in Vietnam. It is with this recognition that Ezmun has been invited onto our station and will be available on our DJ agency soon; we hope you enjoy the show!
