DJ Joshua announces his track list for Velvety Elements 276.

Scientific Sound Asia presents the latest instalment of Velvety Elements, hosted by Portuguese DJ and producer Joshua. As part of the station’s mission to connect underground artists across Asia and beyond, the series highlights House music in its most refined and soulful forms.
Based in Évora, Portugal, Joshua has been an active figure in the electronic music community since the 1990s. His extensive archive of vinyl, cassettes, CDs, and digital releases represents decades of musical exploration. While his journey has touched on Techno, Drum & Bass, and Chillout, House has always remained the centre of his creative expression.
During quieter moments for Portugal’s underground scene, Joshua contributed behind the scenes by organising events and cultivating collaborations to support its growth. After stepping back to focus on family life, he returned with renewed energy, first with Floating Beats, a show known for melodic, immersive selections, followed by Velvety Elements, dedicated to groove-driven House.
Performing under several aliases, including K-Joshua, Joshua Marian, Joshua Fernand, and Joshua Onairam, he explores everything from minimal and percussive edges to soulful, melodic approaches. In 2024, he launched JFLM Recordings, a label focused on his own productions and emerging artists delivering deep and emotionally engaging House music. Through Velvety Elements, Joshua continues to showcase his distinctive sound while fostering a global community of House enthusiasts.
The mix begins with Alton Miller’s Dub Afrika, setting a soulful Deep House foundation before Ralph Lawson & Wulf N Bear’s Raptures of The Deep takes the sound into Minimal / Deep Tech territory. Tuccillo’s Lost Island follows with a warm, percussive flow.
DJ Pipe’s Deeper Strainz and Franck Roger’s Sandton Skys maintain the classic House vibe, while Danny Tenaglia’s Bottom Heavy and Danny Howells’ Powershow (Payoff Mix) provide deeper layers and hypnotic progression.
The middle of the set highlights D’Julz’s Big Wag and DJ Sneak’s Spinnin Around, both delivering raw House energy. Finest Wear’s This Vibe Is Right keeps things rolling with smooth Deep House textures.
Closing the show, G. Flame’s Freetown injects Tech House energy before Cerulean City Committee’s Chicxulub Club rounds things off with a vibrant House groove, leaving the session on a high.
