El Brujo (first hour) real name Robert Milanesi was born in Italy in 1964. From a very early age he became addicted to music and in 1994 became known as one of the founding fathers of the underground rave scene in Bologna, Italy.

His first official release in 2008 was ‘Warriors’ on the Milan Label Open Legs. Jambalay Records, his label was launched at their opening party in 2010 in Ibiza, Spain at Club Geminis in the Ibiza harbour.

The label and El Brujo then burst onto the worldwide scene with the legendary Maya Jane Coles first charting in her February Chart 2011; his track, ‘Mozambique’ in collaboration with Big Mojo, was his first physical CD release ’Nutty Fellas Are Go'. In January 2019, his release, ‘Plastic Dreams’ was originally released on Frame Worxx and ranked number #33 in the Beatport Hard Techno Top 100.

EL Brujo has released on labels such as Hydraulic, Naked Lunch, Elektrax, Frame Workxx, Lw Recordings, Subwoofer, Sound Dissonance, Physical Techno and many others. In May 2022 he was charted by DJ Rush and his track Shit Happens reached position number 10 in the Beatport top 100 for Jackin House.

His Unique sound is one of the unknown as the cosmos is a part of El Brujo and his creations are interstellar in his “Raw” approach whatever the music genre he conceives in music innovation. El Brujo will be giving us a guest DJ from his collection of House and Techno producers and artists every month.

This week's guest DJ (second hour) is Black Velveteen, Black Velveteen a.k.a Chris Offutt was born and raised on the South Side of Chicago. Her parents introduced her to a wide range of music; Motown to Mozart and everything in between.

Some frequently featured artists in young Chris’s house were Aretha Franklin, Fleetwood Mac, Stevie Wonder and James Taylor. Current influences include Chris Fortier, Amonita, Wilma, Nora En Pure, Tayllor, Wilson Kentura, and Matt Sawyer to name a few.

From a very young age, she dreamed of hosting her own radio show. In 2011 that dream became when she had her show “ Progressions in House” on FNOOB based out of London.

Chris enjoyed DJing around the San Francisco Bay Area from 2012 to 2019. In 2012 she became the resident DJ and musical director at Aloft Hotel, San Francisco. Black Velveteen's style and sound are indescribable as she reaches for sounds and music that bring her listeners to a new experience. Whether she is spinning for friends and family in her home or on Parade floats and Art Cars in the desert for Burning Man or Night Clubs Black Velveteen never fails to delight and inspire her audience!

In 2018, her Sunrise Set at Sonic Runway on the infamous Airpusher Art Car was recognized as one of the top 9 sets of Burning Man by Billboard Dance. She was deeply honoured by this mention.

She has also opened for headliners such as Blond:sh, Donald Glaude, Mat. Joe, and Einmusik. In 2021 she was asked to join the wildly popular Noise Complaint crew in Seattle and was delighted to do so.

She also holds residencies with Studio 4/4, Caravan and Airpusher Collective. In her spare time, she curates DJ mixes for Proton Radio on Spotify and Apple Music as well as for Proton Amplified and Proton Featured Artist and her monthly show, Integrated.

She is also the label owner of Sage Rites powered by Proton Radio. She also produces her tracks with the help of some very talented friends. This month's show features a nice combination of House and Techno.
