The Boom Bap Show, presented by DJ Ronsha and G-Zon, is a flagship programme on Scientific Sound Asia, committed to maintaining the authentic spirit of genuine Hip-Hop. Broadcasting each week, the show provides a powerful combination of Boom Bap, Underground Hip-Hop and Rap, serving as an important platform for both established purists and rising artists. Scientific Sound Asia continues expanding as a respected radio station, DJ agency and promoter, with extensive international reach across Asia and further afield.
G-Zon has been a central figure in the Parisian rap scene since the 1980s, contributing to the establishment of French Boom Bap. His creative partnership with DJ Ronsha led to the formation of La Meute, a collective recognised for uncompromising lyrics and raw production. Together, they have supported a sound grounded in tradition while consistently exploring creative boundaries.
An important achievement in their development was the release of Danse Avec Les Loups, an acclaimed project featuring collaborations with prominent French artists, including 20SYL (of Hocus Pocus and C2C) and Black M (of Sexion d'Assaut). The album brought La Meute greater international recognition while remaining true to its underground principles.
DJ Ronsha, also based in Paris, is respected for his sharp production style and extensive musical knowledge. As the show's resident DJ and La Meute's main beatmaker, his carefully selected tracks and refined mixes give the programme its distinctive character. In addition to spotlighting classics, he frequently introduces new talent, reinforcing the culture's roots while supporting its evolution.
Together, DJ Ronsha and G-Zon have built more than just a radio show. They represent a movement. Through their work with La Meute, their live performances, and international collaborations, they continue to connect Hip-Hop fans across generations, ensuring the genre’s legacy and future remain intertwined.
Slick Rick opens Boom Bap Show 51 with Stress, his collaboration with Parker Ighile and Giggs, mixing soulful introspection with UK grit. Napoleon Da Legend follows with Legendary Biopic, bringing hardcore flair alongside D-Styles’ turntablism and standout verses from Bernadette Price and Terror Van Poo. Confidence’s expert cuts on Rollercoaster lift M-Dot’s fast-paced rhymes, while Devine Carama and Blaq Poet deliver a brooding tribute to Mobb Deep with Mobb Deep Effect.
Rasheed Chappell & Mickey Blue’s Noyd’s Theme adds jazzy melancholy before Cymarshall Law, Planet Asia, and DJ Rhettmatic intensify the tempo on Blowtorch. Sham Blak and PHD Beats drop Encrypted, laced with code-cracking bars and gritty loops. Truth By Design’s Force Writing keeps the bars heavy and raw, and Journeymen’s Frame The Picture Proper paints their message with smooth delivery and thoughtful prose.
Mid-set highlights include Mic Bles & Maniac’s Glossolalia, a multi-layered rhymefest with Tone Spliff’s signature cuts. T.F & Khrysis collaborate with Flee Lord and Smoke DZA on Handle Bars, balancing street wisdom and punchlines. Red Inf and UFO Fev shine on Real Deal, while G Fam Black, P-Ro & Hi-Q keep a rugged consistency on tracks like Spike Strips and Fists On The Ground. Jus-P & Swab’s God Killer contrasts spiritual motifs with survivalist lyricism.
Closing the episode, Mr. Ripley & Milli Vanilli Beats team up with Sadat X and Zulu#7 on Stay Dangerous, a defiant closer with militant energy. Earlier, Rasheed Chappell returned with Glass Candle, poetic and potent. Savage The 3rd’s Stolen Plates with Big Twins is another standout street tale, while Sheff’s Kitchen, Dizzy Dizasta, and DJ Hoppa bring final doses of unfiltered Boom Bap. DJ Ronsha & G-Zon once again deliver a sharp curation, marking 400 episodes of cutting-edge underground hip hop.
