Hosted by DJ Ronsha and G-Zon, the esteemed Boom Bap Show delivers a finely curated selection of Boom Bap, Hip-Hop, and Rap, and stands as a cornerstone of programming on Scientific Sound Asia, a leading DJ agency, radio station, and event organiser with a wide international audience, particularly across Asia.

G-Zon, a veteran of the Paris hip-hop scene, has been an influential figure in French rap since the 1980s. Alongside DJ Ronsha, he co-founded La Meute, a collective that has played a pivotal role in shaping the evolution of French Boom Bap and underground hip-hop. Their impact extends beyond their music, helping define the identity of an entire movement within French urban culture.

Celebrated for their raw lyricism and soulful, rhythm-driven beats, G-Zon and DJ Ronsha have maintained a consistent, authentic, and progressive sound. Their work resonates with both long-time hip-hop purists and newer audiences seeking music rooted in lyrical substance and genuine artistry.

A key milestone in their career came with the release of Danse Avec Les Loups, La Meute’s acclaimed album, which featured collaborations with some of France’s most respected artists, including 20SYL (of Hocus Pocus and C2C) and Black M (of Sexion d’Assaut). The album demonstrated their capacity for artistic evolution while maintaining their underground edge, establishing them as major contributors to the modern French hip-hop scene.

DJ Ronsha, also based in Paris, is recognised for his refined production skills and serves as the official DJ of the Boom Bap Show. His influence on the genre is substantial, having worked with a wide range of underground artists and contributed extensively to La Meute’s body of work. With intricate drum patterns and atmospheric arrangements, Ronsha provides the ideal sonic environment for G-Zon’s hard-hitting, introspective lyricism.

Together, G-Zon and DJ Ronsha offer a globally relevant take on classic Boom Bap, connecting with listeners through studio recordings, live performances, and regular radio broadcasts. Through the Boom Bap Show, they continue to spotlight underground talent, foster cross-cultural dialogue, and uphold the foundational values of the genre.

As founding members of La Meute, their contribution to the French hip-hop underground remains both historic and ongoing. By extending the reach of Boom Bap well beyond France’s borders, they have helped build bridges between scenes and audiences, ensuring that their legacy is not only preserved but also continuously evolving within the global hip-hop narrative.

DJ TMB opens the show with crisp scratches and layered breaks, paving the way for intense lyrical affirmations on proving worth, resilience, and adversity. Conscious bars and cinematic beats surface with tracks like Crash Test Dummies and The Bar, before deeper themes emerge with Angelic Demons and Crushed Grapes, blending street narratives, spiritual struggle, and luxurious metaphor.

As the episode progresses, cyphers, battle verses, and political insights stack up. DJ cuts and tactical lyricism energise Master Plan, while lyrical giants like Black Thought and Raekwon offer philosophical commentary over vintage-style instrumentals. Tracks like Toxic and Nethalenz dip into grimy, minimalist production, balancing introspection with sharp technical delivery.

The darker stretch of the set explores horror, crime, and urban mythology. Abstract pieces like 23 Plates and Poison Industry blur narrative with cryptic cadence, while martial imagery and robbery plots ground the intensity in storytelling. Tracks like Swinging Sabers and The Heist drive home this cinematic edge, accompanied by standout UK appearances and raw East Coast contributions.

The final segment weaves spiritual depth, conspiracy, and poetic resolve. Tracks like In Thy We See Light and I Gotta Know ask existential questions, while Bloody and Readings On The Wall end on themes of sacrifice, legacy, and coded prophecy. Boom Bap Show 46 is an expansive and fiercely curated mix that showcases the underground’s uncompromising voice through the sharp ears of DJ Ronsha & G-Zon.
