Marco Mei, the Italian DJ and producer behind Bicycle Corporation, returns with a new edition of his long-running radio show on Scientific Sound Asia. The station continues to operate as an important platform for underground electronic and urban music across Asia, connecting international audiences through radio broadcasts, live events and a global artist network.
With a career spanning more than three decades, Marco has developed a sound rooted in Afro-influenced rhythms, deep house foundations and forward-moving club energy. His long-standing relationship with the dancefloor, combined with a refined and instinctive musical approach, has earned him sustained respect across Europe, Asia and beyond.
His journey began in the early 1990s in Turin, where he became immersed in the city’s underground club culture. Drawn to house, techno and Afro-centric rhythms, he co-founded the Urban People collective, which played a formative role in Italy’s early electronic movement by organising forward-thinking events and club nights outside the mainstream.
A defining chapter followed with a residency at Pacha Sharm El Sheikh, which broadened his international profile and led to performances at clubs and venues worldwide. His touring history includes appearances at Woo Bar in Bali, The Mansion in Shanghai, Fuse in Brussels and The Observatory in Ho Chi Minh City, among many others.
In 2009, Marco partnered with Stefano Ugliano, also known as 6884, to form Bicycle Corporation. Together they have released more than fifty tracks and remixes across Deep House, Tech House, French House and Techno, appearing on labels such as Alchemy, Miniatures, WL77, Suka and GrooveTraxx. Their work consistently balances club functionality with musical depth, earning steady support within the underground scene.
Now based in Taipei, Marco remains an active and influential presence in the region’s electronic music landscape. Through his ongoing radio work with Scientific Sound Asia, he channels decades of experience into carefully curated selections that respect club heritage while engaging with contemporary sounds. Each broadcast reflects his enduring connection to the dancefloor and reinforces his role as a bridge between scenes, generations and global underground communities.
The episode opens with a strong groove-driven feel as Funky and Jackin House selections set a confident and playful tone. Early tracks establish a classic house attitude, combining raw rhythm with vocal hooks and floor-focused energy that immediately draws the listener into the mix.
As the session develops, the emphasis shifts toward House and Tech House, where rolling basslines and punchy drums take centre stage. Tracks like Endless High in the Huxley remix and Hot Spot tighten the groove, while vocal edits and crossover moments add variety without disrupting the flow.
Midway through, Disco and Soulful House influences come forward, injecting warmth and nostalgia into the set. Reworked classics and soulful vocal cuts provide contrast to the tougher club tools, creating a sense of lift and familiarity while maintaining momentum.
The closing stretch sharpens the energy with Peak Time Techno moments and driving Tech House before easing back into Disco and House to finish. Episode 3 closes as a well-balanced club journey, reflecting DJ Marco Mei’s ability to connect classic influences with modern dancefloor pressure and timeless house sensibility.
Don’t miss DJ Marco Mei’s live set on Saturday, January 17th, 2026, from 6 to 8 PM Indochina Time (ICT). If you can’t tune in for the live show, catch the replay on Wednesday between 6 and 8 AM ICT.
