Marco Mei, the veteran Italian DJ and producer behind Bicycle Corporation, returns with a new edition of his long-running radio show on Scientific Sound Asia. The station, recognised for supporting underground electronic and urban music across Asia, continues to connect global audiences through its broadcasts, events, and extensive network of international artists.
With a career spanning more than thirty years, Marco has built a distinctive reputation for blending Afro-influenced rhythms, deep house grooves and dynamic club energy. His refined musical sensibility and instinctive understanding of the dancefloor have earned him a loyal following across Europe, Asia and beyond.
Marco’s roots trace back to the early 1990s in Turin, where he immersed himself in the city’s underground club movement. His growing interest in house, techno and Afro-centric patterns inspired him to co-found Urban People, a pioneering collective that played a significant role in shaping Italy’s early electronic music culture through forward-thinking events and club nights.
His career expanded with a notable residency at Pacha Sharm el-Sheikh, where he first gained international recognition. This led to performances at respected venues across the globe including Woo Bar in Bali, The Mansion in Shanghai, Fuse in Brussels and The Observatory in Ho Chi Minh City. These appearances cemented Marco’s reputation as a versatile artist capable of elevating any dancefloor.
In 2009, Marco joined forces with fellow Italian producer Stefano Ugliano, known as 6884, forming the duo Bicycle Corporation. Their catalogue now exceeds fifty original tracks and remixes across Deep House, Tech House, French House and Techno, released on labels such as Alchemy, Miniatures, WL77, Suka and GrooveTraxx. Their productions continue to find support from DJs who value detailed craftsmanship and musical depth.
Since relocating to Taipei in 2010, Marco has become an influential figure within Taiwan’s underground scene. His sets combine global influences with the core elements of house and techno, delivering a sound that feels both timeless and forward-focused.
Through his radio series on Scientific Sound Asia, Marco continues to share the breadth of experience and passion that define his career. Each episode reflects his devotion to underground culture and his ongoing contribution to the international electronic music movement.
The journey opens in a warm House vein as Mia Moretti’s Safe With Me featuring Irma Thomas sets a soulful tone, followed by DEFEX and BLONDEWEARINGBLACK’s We Are The Beat pushing things into Tech House territory. Delfonic’s Saturday Night Dance blends Deep House and House, while Lock Me Up by Cam Jones, Sunny Side and Ian Allen keep the groove accessible and club-focused. Brunello’s Lost In The Mellow Circus introduces an Indie Dance twist, and Galo’s Marilu brings in clear Funky House flavour, giving the early part of the mix a colourful, upbeat character.
Dwayne Jensen’s My People (Disco Nights Mix) deepens the mood with classic Deep House vibes, before Jonas Blue and Malive’s Edge Of Desire (Franky Rizardo Remix) steers back into modern Tech House. Kassian’s If You Want Me merges House and Nu Disco elements, while Loveface’s Love Satisfaction leans further into Disco and boogie. Luke Alessi and William Kiss with Ride The Rhythm and Piem’s Disco Mordisco (Daniel Steinberg Remix) bring the focus firmly back to House, balancing dancefloor drive with a playful disco influence.
The energy tightens as The Martinez Brothers’ H2DAIZZO (Josh Baker Remix) adds a Minimal and Deep Tech edge, before Wh0 vs The Fog’s Been A Long Time restores a chunky House groove. Bruno Roth’s Get Up The Funk keeps the House feel lively and fun, and Charles Earland’s Drifting (Laroye Rework) shifts into Soulful House with rich musicality. D Stone’s Everything From The Organ returns to Deep House, while Darius Syrossian’s Come To Me brings back upfront House momentum, maintaining a strong club-centred flow.
In the closing stretch, Dave Delly and Powl’s Need In Me adds one last dose of tight Tech House, followed by Janika Tenn’s Going Down, which refocuses on classic House. Jimmy McFoy’s Love Me The Way You Like introduces a touch of Italo Disco character, and LP Giobbi with Alex Kennon’s Natura Umana rounds things off in expressive House fashion. Together, these selections showcase Marco Mei’s blend of House, Deep House, Tech House, Disco, Funky House and Indie Dance, tying vintage influences and modern club energy into a cohesive session.
