DJ Marco Mei, the veteran Italian DJ and producer behind Bicycle Corporation, returns with another instalment of his long-running radio show on Scientific Sound Asia. Broadcasting across Asia and to listeners worldwide, the station continues to champion underground electronic and urban music while supporting DJs, producers, and audiences through its platform, events, and DJ agency.
With more than thirty years on the international circuit, Marco has built a reputation for versatile, genre-spanning sets that fuse Afro-inspired rhythms with house grooves and club-driven electronics. His deep musical knowledge and energetic performances have earned him loyal followings on dancefloors around the globe.
Marco’s journey began in the early 1990s in Turin, Italy, where he immersed himself in the underground scene. Hours spent digging in record shops and nights at clubs fuelled his passion for house, techno, and Afrobeat, leading to the creation of Urban People, a collective that became a cornerstone of Italy’s emerging electronic movement.
A career breakthrough came with his residency at Pacha in Sharm el-Sheikh, which paved the way for international appearances at renowned venues including Woo Bar in Bali, The Mansion in Shanghai, Fuse in Brussels, and The Observatory in Ho Chi Minh City.
In 2009, Marco partnered with fellow Italian producer Stefano Ugliano, also known as 6884, to form Bicycle Corporation. Together, they have released more than fifty tracks and remixes spanning Deep House, Tech House, French House, and Techno, working with respected labels such as Alchemy, Miniatures, WL77, Suka, and GrooveTraxx.
Since relocating to Taipei in 2010, Marco has become a central figure in Taiwan’s underground community. His sets reflect a global perspective, weaving diverse influences while remaining true to the roots of club culture.
As host of his acclaimed show on Scientific Sound Asia, Marco continues to deliver mixes that mirror the depth and vitality of his live performances. Each broadcast demonstrates his enduring commitment to underground music and his ability to connect with listeners worldwide.
With decades of experience, an international outlook, and an unwavering dedication to his craft, Marco Mei remains a key influence in house and techno, shaping the scene through his solo work, Bicycle Corporation collaborations, and regular radio presence.
The latest episode of DJ Marco Mei’s 2025 series begins with a strong House foundation. Tracks like Can’t Give You Up by Deep Sensation, Austin Ato & Björk’s Human, and Bushwacka’s House Muzik build a soulful and groove-driven start. Darius Syrossian’s Come To Me and Dennis Quin’s Hard Days Work keep the momentum flowing with warm, rhythmic layers.
Deep House emerges with Cesar De Melero & D.O.D.’s 1,2,3,4 (David Penn Remix) and D Stone’s Everything From The Organ and Time Selection. These selections add depth and atmosphere, contrasting the heavier House cuts while maintaining energy. DJ Spen, Thommy Davis, and Ruze & Chesster introduce rich vocal-driven flavours, while HiFi Sean, Ralphi Rosario & Dajae’s No More further enhances the soulful vibe.
Midway, Marco Mei dives into Jackin House with Jade Cox’s Let Go / Call The Shots and Mike Parton’s Go To The Moon, injecting playful grooves and upbeat funk. Gary’s Garage brings a UK Garage twist with Gary Loves Garage, adding variety to the journey. Phil Fuldner’s Afrodesia and Oliver Dollar & Brillstein’s Pill Popper keep the floor moving with bold percussion and house intensity.
The closing section blends Deep Tech, Nu Disco, and classic House sensibilities. Toman’s Seguimos adds a deep tech edge, while Uncertain’s Push and Nasty inject raw drive. Unknown Artist’s Love Is The Respect closes the set with Nu Disco flair, merging nostalgic tones with modern dancefloor spirit. Marco Mei proves once again his ability to weave diverse house styles into a seamless mix.
