Interview Guest: Jus One.

Jus One is a seasoned underground hip-hop artist and producer based in Upstate New York, widely respected for his gritty lyricism, no-frills delivery, and dedication to the essence of boom bap hip-hop. With a career spanning over two decades, he has earned a reputation as a stalwart of the underground, both as a solo artist and as a member of the respected battle rap collective Team Homi.

Jus One’s style is raw, honest, and rooted in the classic foundations of hip-hop, with a sound that stays true to the culture’s golden era. His discography reflects his commitment to that sound.

Early projects like Real Rap (2008) laid the groundwork for his reputation as a fierce lyricist and authentic storyteller. More recently, his 2024 release The Gawd Homi further established his place in the underground, featuring standout collaborations with Grea8Gawd and DJ Tes One.

Tracks such as DEM GAWDS and GAWD SEASON are testament to his ability to deliver hard-hitting verses over classic boom bap production, offering fans that raw sound rarely found in the mainstream. Jus One’s extended network of collaborators includes respected names like Poison Pen, Ike P, and Billy Gram, highlighting his deep roots in the independent and battle rap communities.

His music addresses themes of struggle, loyalty, inner strength, and survival, all conveyed through a sharp pen and commanding vocal presence. He represents the kind of artist who values integrity over hype, and his catalogue resonates with hip-hop heads who crave authenticity and lyricism.

For listeners and collectors alike, Jus One’s music is available through independent platforms like Bandcamp and SoundCloud, where his growing catalogue continues to showcase his work ethic and staying power. In a time when trends shift rapidly, Jus One stands firm, representing the raw energy and passion that defines true boom bap hip-hop.

DJ King Flow opens Episode 49 with an exclusive freestyle from Jus One, followed by raw Boom Bap cuts like “Gawd Emcee” and “All Good Til It’s All Bad.” Charles Herron and Kadiz keep the exclusives rolling, laying down hard bars that set the tone for a lyrically sharp hour.

The set takes a darker turn with the explosive “Beat Da Shit Out Chu” by Onyx & L’Uzine and the heavy energy of “Respectfully” by Tru Trilla, Justo The MC & Naps N Dreads. Conscious themes emerge in “Freedom And Justice” and “Aten,” both laced with truth and fire.

Things heat up with lyrical barrages from Lloyd Banks, Ghostface Killah, and Ransom on “Endangered Innocence” and “1982.” DJ Moar & Guilty Simpson’s remix of “Taylor Made” and Obleak’s deep groove keep the vibe authentic, while Smif-N-Wessun’s twin tracks offer a nod to classic Boom Bap legacy.

The episode closes with “Elephant In The Room” and a sharp interview with Jus One, wrapping up a show that is pure East Coast energy and lyrical craftsmanship. A must-listen for heads who crave substance and skill behind every beat and bar.

The broadcast will be live on Monday, May 19th, 2025, from 8 PM to 10 PM Indochina Time (ICT), with a replay scheduled for Saturday from 8 AM to 10 AM (ICT).
