Floating Beats returns with episode 736, presented by DJ Joshua, on Scientific Sound Asia. The platform operates as an Asian electronic music radio station, DJ agency and promoter, while also publishing music news and connecting audiences across the region and internationally.

Born in Évora, Portugal, Joshua has been immersed in electronic music culture since the mid 1990s. His long-standing connection to vinyl, cassettes, CDs and digital formats reflects decades of dedication to underground sound and DJ culture.

Throughout his career, he has explored house, techno, drum and bass and chillout. Even during quieter periods for Portugal’s rave scene, he remained active at a grassroots level, organising events and supporting the underground community.

After stepping away from music to focus on family life, he returned with renewed direction through Floating Beats. The series reestablished his international presence and developed into a platform for deeper and progressive electronic sounds.

His studio work spans multiple aliases, each representing a different creative direction. As K Joshua, Joshua Fernand, Joshua Marian and Joshua Onairam, he explores styles ranging from deep house and techno to melodic and cinematic compositions.

Recent releases continue this progression, including the 2025 Joshua Onairam track Shiny Night. The production highlights a focus on narrative flow, combining progressive structure with melodic detail and atmosphere.

In 2024, he founded JFLM Recordings as a platform for his own releases while supporting underground artists. The label reflects a continued commitment to musical integrity and development within the electronic music scene. Together, Floating Beats and JFLM Recordings represent a long-term dedication to underground electronic culture, with each episode continuing a carefully shaped and evolving musical journey.

Floating Beats 736 by DJ Joshua opens with a deep and driving tone as Ness and Truncate establish a hypnotic foundation through Iridium and The Trip. Joshua Fernand shifts the energy with Tearing Metal, introducing a Peak Time Techno edge before DJ Dextro and Minniemen return the mix to a more restrained, rolling groove with Disclosure Of Who We Are and Echo Learns.

The middle section builds steadily with Rheak and Planetary Assault Systems, where Intrusion and Enter Action reinforce a Raw and Hypnotic Techno direction. S-File and Oscar Mulero continue this intensity through Sirens and Like A Black Rainbow, maintaining a tight, loop-driven structure.

Momentum is sustained through Drucal and Fresko with Dulces Sueños Hijos and Post Urban Condition, both emphasising deeper textures and subtle progression. The Advent adds a classic touch with S (Twenty Two), keeping the groove consistent while layering rhythmic complexity.

The closing section sees Marco Bailey and Sigvard push the energy forward with Modern Wolf, rounding off a set that remains firmly rooted in Raw, Deep and Hypnotic Techno. This episode delivers a focused, underground Techno session with a single Peak Time moment adding contrast within an otherwise deep and driving framework.

Tune in to his live radio show on Monday, March 30th, 2026, from 6 to 8 p.m. Indochina Time (ICT). If you miss it, you can listen to the replay on Friday from 6 to 8 a.m. (ICT).
