Blaze DJ has unveiled the playlist for his upcoming show Ministry of Breaks 29 on Scientific Sound Asia. As the leading electronic music station in the region, Scientific Sound Asia continues to connect global audiences with underground artists, fresh releases, and innovative live performances.

Originally from Walthamstow, East London, Blaze DJ has spent decades immersed in the culture of underground music. A lifelong student of the craft, his thousands of hours behind the decks have shaped a unique style that fuses technical mastery with deep musical instinct and an unmistakable connection to his audience.

Raised on a diverse musical diet of jazz, funk, disco, new romantics, and 1980s synth-pop, Blaze DJ’s early influences came from his family’s record collection. His passion for house music ignited in 1987 when he first discovered House Sounds of Chicago Volume 1, a defining moment that set him on a path through the evolving world of electronic music.

Starting his DJ journey at just fifteen, Blaze DJ quickly rose through the UK club circuit, performing in local pubs and securing residencies in Birmingham and Faliraki. He went on to play to crowds of more than two thousand people during the acid house explosion, witnessing the birth of the modern dance scene from behind the decks.

More than thirty years later, Blaze DJ remains as driven as ever, keeping house music at the heart of his sound while embracing breaks, acid, and techno in his signature sets. His ability to blend eras and genres with seamless precision keeps dancefloors moving and his reputation strong among underground communities worldwide.

Outside the booth, Blaze DJ helped reshape the UK’s DJ and production retail landscape by being the first to unite both under one roof. His work as an audio-visual designer and consultant has taken him to some of the world’s most iconic venues. After a break from performing in 2005, he made a powerful return to the scene fifteen years later, reigniting his career with a fresh sense of purpose.

Since his comeback, Blaze DJ has secured regular shows on Ibiza Club News Radio, Underground Kollektiv, and Scientific Sound Asia, gaining a renewed following for his Ministry of Breaks sessions. Recent releases under Industrial Force and Zeta Records showcase his punchy, bass-driven production style, with new material expected through 2025. His sets continue to bridge old-school roots with cutting-edge breakbeat, bass house, and UKG influences.

The Ministry of Breaks brand has grown rapidly, combining breaks, bass, and bleeps into an unmistakable sound that defines Blaze DJ’s current identity. Alongside studio work, he has relaunched the MOB YouTube channel and continues to host Breaks n Bass events, reinforcing his place at the centre of the UK’s breakbeat revival.

Following recent appearances at D.A.B in Dalston and Heathcote & Star, Blaze DJ’s schedule remains busy with upcoming Ministry of Breaks showcases and festival dates planned for 2025. In between live events, he is back in the studio developing new tracks and collaborations that promise to take the energy and attitude of the breaks movement to new heights.

Ministry of Breaks 29 bursts into action with 2 For Joy’s Let The Bass Kick and Nitro’s Deluxe, setting a fierce pace through Breakbeat and Hardcore roots. Slynk’s funk-infused remix of Rufus Thomas’s Fried Chicken and Rasco & Sekret Chadow’s Get Wicked anchor the first act with a nod to old-school club energy. These tracks balance classic structure with modern production punch, drawing from Blaze DJ’s deep knowledge of breakbeat evolution.

In the mid-section, the mix explores deeper and darker textures from producers like The Darrow Chem Syndicate, Kwerk, and Audiotrap. Electro influences arrive through Kristin Velvet’s Frequency and The Freakazoids’ The Freak, bridging Classic Detroit and Modern Electro aesthetics. Blaze DJ keeps the rhythm driving while inserting moments of funk and groove that hint at his live performance edge.

As the mix progresses, the energy shifts toward experimental and bass-heavy selections. Tracks like Soundboy by Face Off, Funky Soul by Noise At Night, and Unrankable Bass by Space Frogs From Saturn showcase Blaze DJ’s versatility across Jungle Breaks and UK Bass hybrids. The result is a set that constantly evolves between percussive grit and smooth transitions.

Closing with layered Electro and bass momentum, Move Like Shadows by Scuba and Fire It Up by The Harem King deliver a final surge of club power. Heartjumpa by Tonka Pres adds a Breakbeat House groove that ties everything together. Ministry of Breaks 29 stands as another strong instalment from Blaze DJ and Scientific Sound Asia, celebrating the diversity of modern breakbeat culture while staying true to its underground spirit.
