Blaze DJ returns with a new edition of Ministry of Breaks on Scientific Sound Asia. The platform operates as an Asian electronic music radio station, DJ agency and promoter, while also publishing music news and connecting audiences across the region and internationally.

Originally from Walthamstow in London’s East End, Blaze DJ is a British DJ and producer whose career remains deeply connected to underground electronic music culture and the craft of DJing. His musical direction has developed through decades of involvement in club culture, combining practical dancefloor experience with a strong connection to rave, breaks and bass-driven sounds.

A major turning point came in 1987 with the discovery of House Sounds of Chicago Volume 1, which sparked a long-term passion for electronic music and underground club culture. By the age of fifteen, he was already performing publicly, building momentum through early appearances in Edmonton before securing further bookings in Birmingham and Faliraki during the height of the UK club era.

As part of the original Acid House generation, Blaze DJ experienced the rapid evolution of UK electronic music first-hand. His sound continues to reflect this background, moving between Breaks, Acid, UK Bass, Techno and rave-influenced club music while maintaining a clear focus on rhythm, energy and structure.

Following a lengthy break from music, he returned with renewed focus on production and radio. Recent years have seen a steady flow of releases across labels connected to the breaks and underground bass scene, reinforcing his presence within contemporary breakbeat culture.

Tracks such as Control on Dirty Kitchen Rave, I Don’t Know on Solid Breaks Records, Ride Da Rhythm and Let It Roll on Ministry of Breaks, alongside They Call It Music on his own imprint, continue showcasing a style rooted in classic rave energy while remaining firmly connected to modern breaks production. Earlier releases, including London Bass on ONE7AUDIO and his rework of Home for Jeff Alford on Industrial Force, further highlight this balance between old-school influence and contemporary sound design.

Operating mainly between 130 and 140 BPM, Blaze DJ’s productions move comfortably across Breaks, Breakbeat, UK Bass and crossover rave territory. His current output reflects a producer focused on groove, impact and underground authenticity rather than short-term trends.

Alongside the monthly radio show, Ministry of Breaks continues evolving as both a broadcast platform and production identity, supporting breaks and bass culture through releases, curated content and underground-focused programming.

Blaze DJ opens Ministry of Breaks 45 with rolling underground grooves from WoTeR, Dominic B and Jem Haynes alongside The Darrow Chem Syndicate, immediately establishing the heavy Breakbeat and UK Bass atmosphere of the session. Stick2Breaks and The Pattern Sound continue the early momentum, while Stanton Warriors and Jem Haynes bring a recognisable rave-driven energy through Heaven.

The first half develops through Loopcrashing, DAVDCASE and Brothers Bud with J-Break, where groove-led Breaks rhythms remain central. Jormek, Antilogic and Unker, alongside Kalugin and Izolenta, maintain the underground direction before Linero and Belforg, with Ro73 deepening the darker club-focused atmosphere.

A shift toward Electro Breaks appears through Loopcrashing’s Release My Mind and Meat Katie with Roland Clark and Elite Force’s The Answer in the Force Mass Motion remix. Blaze DJ’s own productions, Let It Roll, and They Call It Music reinforce the show’s hardcore rave-inspired identity, while Fran Break, Demarkus Lewis and Ian Abram with Nik Milan balance old-school Breakbeat influences with modern bass-driven production.

The middle section introduces Bassline crossover textures through The Glitter Bosher’s Cupcake, while Altern 8’s Frequency in the DJ Jonay remix brings classic rave energy into the mix. Keith Mackenzie, Firestar Soundsystem and UFO Project continue the intensity with driving Breakbeat rhythms and Electro-influenced club grooves.

The closing stretch remains firmly rooted in underground Breakbeat culture through DJ Hybrid and Jacotanu, CTRL-Z with Freestylers and Destroyers, alongside Guau. Tracks from Eloquin, Macho, Yo Speed and Afghan Headspin with Zenmonky and Jimmy P UB8 maintain the high-energy rave atmosphere before the session closes with Dominic B and Borez together with Specimen A and Miss Mants, rounding off another heavy Ministry of Breaks journey through modern Breakbeat and UK Bass sounds.

Listen to the live broadcast on Friday, May 8th, 2026, from 6 PM to 8 PM Indochina Time (ICT), and remember to catch the re-run on Tuesday from 6 AM to 8 AM (ICT).
