Blaze DJ has revealed the lineup for the forthcoming episode 37 of his Ministry of Breaks show on Scientific Sound Asia. The station continues to operate as a leading electronic music radio platform, event organiser and DJ agency across Asia and internationally, connecting underground artists with a diverse global audience.

Originating from Walthamstow in London’s East End, Blaze DJ is a British DJ and producer deeply embedded in underground music culture and the craft of DJing. Throughout his career, he has maintained a strong connection to the scene that shaped him, consistently evolving while staying true to his roots.

The often-cited “10,000 hours rule” suggests that mastery requires years of dedicated practice. For Blaze, however, those hours were never a destination, but simply the foundation of a lifelong pursuit of refinement, instinct and musical understanding. His relationship with turntables, music selection and audience engagement has always been guided by intuition, experience and feel rather than rigid technique.

Growing up in a musically rich household, Blaze was influenced by Jazz, Funk, Disco, New Romantics and 1980s synth-pop. A pivotal moment arrived in 1987 when, as a schoolboy, he discovered the cassette House Sounds of Chicago Volume 1. This encounter transformed music from a pastime into a defining force in his life, shaping his social world, creative path and career trajectory.

Blaze began DJing at just 15 years old, quickly establishing himself as a respected selector. Early performances in Edmonton led to regular bookings in Birmingham and Faliraki, where he frequently played to crowds numbering in the thousands. These formative years cemented his reputation as a commanding and energetic performer.

As a key figure in the UK Acid House era, Blaze considers himself fortunate to have witnessed the evolution of Britain’s electronic music culture from its origins to the present day. Even after more than three decades in the industry, he retains the same drive and intensity that powered the legendary parties of the early 1990s.

Sonically, Blaze blends classic house sensibilities with breaks, subtle acid textures and elements of techno, creating a distinctive hybrid sound that reflects both heritage and innovation.

Beyond the booth, Blaze played an important role in shaping DJ culture through his involvement with record shops and equipment spaces that blurred the line between DJing and production. His work also contributed to transforming the retail landscape for electronic music.

By 2005, Blaze stepped back from regular DJing, shifting his focus toward sound and visual design, consulting on club sound systems worldwide. After a fifteen-year hiatus, he returned to performing with renewed purpose and momentum. In recent years, he has secured monthly radio residencies with Ibiza Club News, Underground Kollektiv and Scientific Sound Asia, marking a strong resurgence in his career.

With an extensive archive of breaks and breakbeat records, Blaze is once again an active presence in the scene. His longstanding affiliations with Industrial Force and Zeta Records reinforce his legacy as a committed ambassador of global breaks culture.

The Ministry of Breaks (MOB) brand has continued to grow in London, driven by its distinctive fusion of breaks, bass and experimental textures. Blaze has expanded MOB’s digital footprint by revitalising both his personal and Ministry of Breaks YouTube channels, offering mixes, sets and archival material to a wider audience.

He has also been instrumental in organising Breaks n Bass events and MOB open-deck nights, actively supporting emerging talent from across London and keeping the community vibrant and connected. Fresh from a productive week in Ibiza, Blaze returns to episode 37 not with subdued grooves, but with high-energy, club-ready breaks, reaffirming that Ministry of Breaks remains firmly rooted in dancefloor intensity, creative risk-taking and underground spirit.

The opening stretch of Ministry of Breaks 37 establishes a raw Breaks foundation through Pit Pat, Hoover Damn and Pandora, locking into rolling drum patterns and clipped stabs typical of contemporary UK Bass-leaning breakbeat. Energize and Mixtress keep the swing tight, while Infinity and I’m A Cowboy introduce sharper synth lines that lift the groove without breaking continuity. By the time Snail Death and Yo Break arrive, the set is already firmly grounded in club-ready Breaks energy.

Momentum continues through Big Watch Big Cuban, 2 On the Bass and Brassicas, leaning on heavier kicks and funk-tinged bass movement. Baddadan Dub and Dreambeach add more atmospheric textures before the run of label staples like Jackie and Headcharge pushes the mix toward a harder, more percussive edge. Holding On and Trigger maintain drive, then Return of the Beats shifts briefly into Glitch Hop while staying rhythmically aligned with the breakbeat core.

The middle section widens the palette. Danger and Deneysel return to straight Breaks weight, followed by Breakin Bad on a darker, bass-led tip. A clear departure arrives with Rumble, bringing 140-tempo Deep Dubstep and Grime aesthetics into the session before snapping back to Breaks via Electric Eels, Plant Based and Candy Flip. The run through Penso and Open Your Mind keeps the percussion front and centre while increasing pressure on the low end.

The final stretch balances club utility with stylistic detours. Drop Da Bass moves into Minimal / Deep Tech territory, then Million Dollar Baby adds a Miami Bass flavour before the mix recentres on Breaks through Elektronic Dance, Time With You and Hey Gringo. Closing highlights such as Higher Place, Bronx Posse and the repeated appearances of Big Watch Big Cuban, 2 On the Bass and Deep Impact reinforce how firmly the episode is anchored in Breaks, Breakbeat and UK Bass, ending with a cohesive, high-tempo statement of the Ministry of Breaks sound.
