Bicycle Corporation has unveiled the track list for episode 203 of their acclaimed Roots show. Broadcast via Scientific Sound Asia, one of the leading electronic music stations, event organisers and DJ agencies in the region, the series continues to celebrate the depth and diversity of global music culture, captivating audiences across Asia and beyond.
For more than a decade, Bicycle Corporation, the Italian duo of DJ and producer Marco Mei and Stefano Ugliano (also known as 6884), has remained a vital force within the international electronic scene. Their productions span French House, Deep House, Tech House and Techno, reflecting both their versatility and their refined sense of craftsmanship.
Marco’s journey began in the early 1990s with Urban People, a pioneering collective that helped shape Italy’s emerging underground house and techno movement. His forward-thinking approach to event organisation and his creative leadership quickly earned him recognition, opening doors to international stages.
Stefano, born and raised in Turin, developed a strong musical foundation through classical piano, percussion and drumming, drawing inspiration from Chopin as well as traditional West African rhythmic forms. His growing fascination with DJ culture and turntablist techniques later blended with his formal training, shaping a distinct and expressive production style.
Together, Marco and Stefano have consistently evolved while remaining deeply connected to their origins. Their enduring partnership and their recent revisiting of earlier material, now available on their Bandcamp page, highlight their ongoing dedication to their artistic path.
With Roots, they continue to explore and honour the sounds that have influenced generations. Their performances weave together Funk, Disco, Afrobeat, Rare Groove, Soul and Brazilian rhythms, forming a rich, timeless fusion that defines the Bicycle Corporation ethos.
The set opens with a strong Disco and House presence, led by Bitter End’s Can’t Stop and Kneel B4 Thelma, followed by the warm Disco flow of Dancing In Space on Goodnight. Cheryl Lynn’s soulful edit adds classic depth before B.B. Cunningham’s Return Of BBC moves into a vintage Disco Breaks groove.
The middle section keeps the rhythm alive through House-driven cuts like Bitter End’s Thelma Hous and multilayered edits such as Lego Edit’s DDB, blending Disco with MPB and Jazz-Funk textures. Funk and Soul colours arrive through Hansi and Joe Tex, Ike Strong’s Boogie Land, and Megatronic’s Nu Disco styling, while Rare Earth brings a dose of Electro-tinged retro energy.
As the mix progresses, the focus shifts to deeper grooves with Fusion from The Architects Of The Good Groove and Soul Disco warmth on Shine. Michael’s soulful house reinterpretation enriches the atmosphere before Austin Ato’s Carnival injects Nu Disco and House vibrance. Jungle-themed Disco gems by Kinkina and John Tropea keep the groove engaging and uplifting.
The closing stretch turns contemplative with Sheila Chandra’s ethereal tone and the Electro and Synth-pop flair of Data A's O No Bungalow. Donald Byrd’s You And Music concludes the episode with a timeless Jazz finish that reinforces the musical range and heritage at the core of Bicycle Corporation’s Roots series.
Be sure to catch this vibrant celebration of rhythm and soul! Tune in to the Roots show on Sunday, December 7th, 2025, broadcasting live from 6 PM to 8 PM Indochina Time (ICT), or enjoy the replay on Thursday from 6 AM to 8 AM (ICT).
