Bicycle Corporation have made public their musical selection for their next 'Roots' show. Scientific Sound Asia is the English language electronic music station, DJ agency, and promoter for Malaysia, China, Singapore, Thailand, Indonesia, South Korea and the rest of Asia with an international following.

Bicycle Corporation is an Italian duo of the DJ and producer Marco Mei plus the skilled Stefano Ugliano aka 6884. As a duo they have released well over 50 tracks and remixes as the house music and techno scene.

In the early nineties, Marco embarked on his musical career as a DJ. He initiated hosting his own events under the name 'Urban People' across Italy.

His notoriety increased, leading to a residency at the prestigious nightclub chain Pacha in Egypt. This residency brought him international recognition and DJ gigs, kickstarting his global musical journey.

Stefano, who was born and raised in Torino, Italy, showed remarkable musical talents from a young age. He enthusiastically delved into studying classical piano, percussion, and drums, finding joy in composing pieces inspired by Chopin as well as the tribal rhythms of West African Djembes.

As Stefano reached adolescence, the persona of 'the DJ' became increasingly fascinating to him. Little did he know that the electronic beats, which were difficult to come by on Italian radio stations in the '90s, would lead to a whole new chapter in his life.

Below is the track list for the upcoming show, showcasing the foundational influences of their sound and the various genres that have inspired their electronic music releases. These genres encompass Funk, Disco, Soul, Afrobeat, Electro, Rare Groove, Hip Hop, and Afrocentric sounds. Bicycle Corporation is available for booking via our DJ agency for Asia.

Bicycle Corporation’s Roots Episode 28, aired on March 29, 2020, offers a dynamic exploration of Funk, Disco, Afrobeat, Brazilian Jazz, and experimental rhythms. The episode opens with the soulful grooves of Bill Summers’ "Straight To The Bank" and the iconic post-punk funk of Liquid Liquid’s "Cavern."

Funk rock classics like Mother’s Finest’s "Dis Go Dis Way, Dis Go Dat Way" lead seamlessly into the upbeat energy of Disco with tracks such as Brooklyn Dreams’ "Street Man" and Stargard’s "Which Way Is Up." Brazilian influences shine in Airto Moreira’s "Celebration Suite" and Dom Um Romão’s "Amor En Jacuma," while Afrobeat elements add depth with Manu Dibango’s "Soul Makossa" and Osunlade’s "Cantos A Ochun Et Oya."

Experimental touches appear with Liaisons Dangereuses’ "Los Ninos Del Parque (Alkalino Rework)" and the Hi-NRG brilliance of Bobby O’s "Still Hott 4 U." Closing out the set are global rhythms like Timmy Thomas’ "In Zaire" and Gilberto Gil’s "Patuscada De Gandhi," which create a vibrant and eclectic sonic experience. This episode is a rhythmic celebration of Funk, Disco, Afrobeat, Brazilian Jazz, and Jazz Fusion, enhanced by elements of Hi-NRG and experimental reworks.
