Bicycle Corporation has published the playlist for their next Foundations episode 78 this Friday. Scientific Sound Asia is an Asian electronic music station, promoter, and DJ agency serving the region and internationally.
Bicycle Corporation is an Italian duo of DJ and producers, Marco Mei and Stefano Ugliano, better known as 6884. In their years of releasing music, the pair have produced over 50 tracks including French House, Deep House, Tech House and Techno.
Marco began his career in the early nineties by working as a crew for events like ‘Urban People.’ With time he gained recognition on the music scene and steadily became a man in demand all across Italy. But then things didn’t stop there, after so much success in his native land Marco was soon getting international bookings across the globe.
Stefano, hailing from Torino, Italy, demonstrated potential as an emerging musician from a young age. He exhibited a strong interest in music, which quickly consumed much of his free time. He learned classical piano, percussion, and drums, and he held a deep admiration for Chopin's compositions as well as the captivating tribal rhythms of the West African Djembe.
Despite his passion for various types of music, there was one thing that captivated Stefano uniquely: the DJ. For the teenage Stefano, the man behind the turntables was the most fascinating. Those beats were rarely heard on any Italian radio station during that period.
For most, creating those sounds, much less performing them before large audiences, would appear to be an impossible dream. However, Stefano was undeterred; he had a vision he was determined to fulfil. Then he met Marco, and through hard work, dedication, and sheer tenacity, Bicycle Corporation was born.
Despite their current success, Marco and Stefan still remember their modest origins. Recently, they have revisited some of their earlier tracks and established a Bandcamp page to share them.
