Bicycle Corporation has announced guest DJ Marcy for an upcoming edition of their Foundations show. Broadcast on Scientific Sound Asia, the series continues to reflect the station’s role as an Asian electronic music platform, promoter and DJ agency serving the region and an international audience.
Bicycle Corporation is the Italian partnership of DJ and producer Marco Mei and musician Stefano Ugliano, also known as 6884. Marco began his musical journey in the early 1990s, working behind the scenes on events organised by the Urban People collective. These early experiences helped establish his presence within Italy’s growing underground scene.
As his reputation developed, Marco became increasingly in demand across Italy, and this momentum soon led to international bookings. His DJ career expanded beyond national borders, taking him to clubs and events around the world and firmly positioning him within the global underground electronic music circuit.
Raised in Torino, Stefano displayed strong musical ability from an early age. He immersed himself in classical piano, percussion and drums, developing a deep appreciation for European composition, including the works of Chopin, alongside the rhythmic traditions of West African djembe. This broad musical foundation later became central to his approach to electronic production.
Despite his classical background, it was the role of the DJ that truly captured Stefano’s imagination. At a time when electronic music was rarely heard on Italian radio, the power of club culture and electronic rhythm inspired him to explore production and performance. His meeting with Marco united two complementary musical paths, leading to the formation of Bicycle Corporation.
Even with decades of releases and international recognition, Marco and Stefano remain closely connected to their roots. Several of their early works have recently been made available through their Bandcamp page, offering listeners insight into the foundations of their sound. The Foundations series reflects this same ethos, welcoming respected DJs such as Marcy to explore deep, timeless and forward-thinking electronic music.

Guest DJ Marcy.
This week’s guest DJ is Marcy, a well-respected selector from Okinawa, Japan, currently marking his 25th year behind the decks. A familiar presence at local venues and underground gatherings, Marcy continues to pursue his passion for DJing with consistency and quiet dedication.
His journey began as a teenager after acquiring his first set of turntables and learning the craft at home. Driven by curiosity and a desire to broaden his creative outlook, he later relocated to New York, where exposure to the city’s club culture and diverse musical influences played an important role in shaping his approach.
After returning from the United States, Marcy’s career gathered momentum in Tokyo, leading to regular performances in the capital and further opportunities to play across Asia. Along the way, he also spent time immersed in Ibiza’s club culture, experiencing its distinctive blend of musical freedom and nightlife energy before eventually returning to his home base in Okinawa.
Across his career, Marcy has shared the decks with respected artists including Gerald Mitchell, Frank Muller, Hiroshi Watanabe a.k.a. Kaito, Paul Murphy and Phil Mison. These experiences have helped refine a DJ style that is fluid and open-minded, moving comfortably between House, Nu Disco, Minimal and Techno while remaining grounded in dancefloor connection.
He currently holds a residency at bar b.p.m. in Okinawa, where his thoughtful selections and adaptable style continue to resonate with local audiences. With a quarter-century of experience behind him, Marcy remains eager to expand his reach, bringing his sound to new cities and venues while staying rooted in the values that have shaped his long-standing journey in electronic music.
The Foundations episode with DJ Marcy opens with a smooth, emotionally rich tone as From The Inside sets a deep house foundation, followed by disco-leaning warmth through Love On Hold and Feel So Right. These early selections establish DJ Marcy’s focus on musical depth, blending classic songwriting with modern house refinement.
As the mix unfolds, Nu Disco and disco-house edits take centre stage. Tracks such as Cathedrals, Hot Jungle Drums And Voodoo Rhythm and Love If You Need It inject rhythmic lift while keeping a strong connection to vintage disco arrangements and extended club structures.
Midway through, soulful vocals come forward with Light You Up and Mountains, adding emotional resonance and gospel-tinged energy. This section balances groove and melody, reinforcing the episode’s celebratory yet tasteful dancefloor direction.
The closing stretch leans into classic house and garage influences, with Bad Habit and The Light providing timeless vocal impact. The set concludes on a confident, uplifting note with The Spirit, rounding out a guest mix that flows naturally between disco heritage and contemporary house expression.
