Scientific Sound Asia announces a new monthly guest show from Northern Irish DJ and producer Eddie-B. The platform operates as an underground electronic music radio station for the Asian region and international audiences, alongside its work as a DJ agency, promoter and music news outlet.

Born and raised in Belfast, Eddie-B came of age during the mid-1990s, a period often associated with a key stage in the city’s electronic music development. Touring events such as Hellraiser and Vengeance regularly stopped at Belfast’s Ulster Hall, exposing him to artists including Carl Cox, Slipmatt, Binman and X-Ray during his early teenage years.

Those early experiences helped shape a lasting interest in electronic music, supported by an extensive collection of bootleg cassette recordings. By the early 2000s, he was a regular at Northern Irish clubbing institutions such as Lush in Portrush and The Met in Armagh.

Planet Love also ran buses from Belfast during this period, allowing groups of clubbers to travel together to some of the region’s most recognised nights. Around the same time, Eddie bought his first pair of Soundlab direct-drive turntables and began developing his own skills behind the decks.

As a product of the golden age of Trance, Eddie was naturally drawn to labels such as Perfecto and Tidy Trax while digging through Belfast’s record shops. DJing remained a passion during this early period, although family life later became his priority when he became a father in his mid-twenties.

Although he never lost his connection with the music, Eddie temporarily stepped back from DJing. In 2018, he decided the time was right to return, rebuilding his setup around Pioneer CDJ-3000s, a Pioneer V10 mixer, RMX-1000 and Toraiz SP-16.

His sound has also developed, now moving through Progressive House, underground House and Techno. When the setting allows, he also leans into raw Techno, using samples, effects and incoming sources routed through his V10 mixer.

Since returning, Eddie-B has played a number of well-received gigs and secured monthly radio activity with Lisburn FM, Bloop Radio London and Scientific Sound Asia. A further monthly residency with Ibiza Club News Radio places him alongside programming connected with artists such as Adam Beyer, Alan Fitzpatrick, John Digweed, Solardo, Claptone, MK and Claude VonStroke.

He also hosts his own podcast, Melodic Dissent, which has built a following among dance music listeners. Alongside DJing and radio, Eddie has moved further into production, taking time to develop his sound and work on new material.

His new monthly show on Scientific Sound Asia adds another platform to his growing activity across radio, club music and production. The series introduces his Belfast-rooted background through a sound focused on Progressive House, underground House and Techno.

Eddie-B Episode 1 opens with Ultra Violet, placing the first section inside Progressive House through its position alongside Sudbeat, progressive and melodic club material. Marc Marzenit follows with Angels Die, keeping the opening movement close to the Spanish producer’s melodic and progressive electronic background.

Eli Nissan’s Insanity gives the episode a confirmed Progressive House entry through its Sudbeat Music listing. Black 8 then continues the same direction with When The Sky Turns Red, before Sonic Union and Dale Middleton’s Leaving Home For Home strengthens the progressive line with another confirmed genre placement.

Subandrio’s Lydian Manuscript continues the Sudbeat-linked Progressive House section, supported by progressive house references around the release. BP and Eran Aviner’s Muze, Nicolas Rada and Antrim’s Daydream, and Simon Vuarambon’s Soulmates then keep the first half deep, melodic and rhythmically controlled.

Flug and Sebastian Lopez introduce Peak Time Techno with Electronic Measures, shifting the episode from progressive structure into a firmer techno sound. A.J Roland’s Tension keeps that pressure in place before Blenk’s Dubjam moves into Raw / Deep / Hypnotic Techno through its Enemy Records listing.

Tom Laws’ Feel You returns the mix to Peak Time Techno, adding a tougher We Are The Brave entry in the middle section. Blenk’s Forward then brings the sound back to raw and hypnotic Techno, matching the deeper and more stripped Enemy Records context.

Marco Bailey’s Acid Winter adds another peak-time Techno selection, drawing from Bailey’s long-standing role in European techno and the harder edge of his catalogue. Aurelien Stireg’s Heretics and Rustal’s Overshadow in the Juan Trujillo remix then keep the closing movement deep, raw and system-focused.

Eli Brown’s Fading To Black raises the late pressure with another peak-time Techno placement. Mod21’s Epilogue 4 in the Len Faki Hardspace Mix then moves back into raw and hypnotic Techno, carrying the darker closing section towards Robert Hood.

Robert Hood closes the episode with The Cure, a confirmed Raw / Deep / Hypnotic Techno release on Rekids. Eddie-B Episode 1 moves from Progressive House into peak-time and hypnotic Techno, giving the debut show a clear transition from melodic depth to a harder closing sequence.
