Andrew Welman has revealed the lineup for Groove Theory 2 on Scientific Sound Asia. The platform operates as an Asian electronic music radio station, DJ agency and promoter, while also publishing music news and connecting audiences across the region and internationally.
Andrew Welman is a DJ, producer and electronic music enthusiast from Montreal, Canada. Alongside his performances, he continues to develop his sound in the studio through ongoing production work.
After a period focused on other commitments, he has recently reconnected with his foundations in DJing and production. This renewed focus reflects a return to his long-standing passion for electronic music and sharing it with a wider audience.
He draws inspiration from artists such as Eats Everything, Carl Cox and Honey Dijon, shaping a style that balances groove with dancefloor functionality. His current work includes radio residencies and involvement in organising events, reinforcing his presence within the underground scene.
His approach centres on building atmosphere through rhythm and carefully selected tracks. Sets are designed to create a natural flow, encouraging movement while maintaining a consistent and engaging energy.
He continues to perform at underground events across Canada, where his selections reflect a connection to house music in its various forms. His core styles include Deep House, Soulful House, Funky House and Tech House, delivered with a focus on groove and musical continuity.
Groove Theory 2 by Andrew Welman opens with a strong Tech House and Techno crossover as Taras Van De Voorde and Joe Brunning set the tone through 1998 in the Deetron remix and Let It Roll in the Trevor Rockcliffe remix. Steve Mac introduces a House groove with After Sundown, before Ronnie Spiteri shifts the energy firmly into Peak Time Techno territory.
Momentum builds through Aitor Ronda and Frankyeffe with Resonances, where Pounding Roses and Puzzle establish a driving and hypnotic framework. Miane and Avision continue this direction, keeping the energy consistent with a focus on club-ready Techno.
The middle section intensifies with Avision and Strafe’s Party Started (Set It Off) alongside Modea’s Shine, both reinforcing the Peak Time direction. Paul Sirrell adds a Tech House variation, while Coyu and Thomas Gandey introduce a melodic layer with 1+1, providing contrast without breaking the flow.
The set continues with Taras Van De Voorde and Avision, where Chasing Autumns and Bring It maintain the driving momentum. Dave Sinner and Elio Riso with Vikthor push further into Peak Time territory, keeping the rhythm tight and energetic.
A sequence from Dok and Martin defines the later stages, with Sensation, Noiseless and Raw Metal delivering a concentrated burst of Peak Time Techno. Frankyeffe and Resonances briefly return to a House Music groove with On Fire, offering a subtle shift before the final push.
The closing stretch is driven by BURNS’ Talamanca in the Carl Cox remix, rounding off the mix with a powerful Peak Time finish. Across the full session, Andrew Welman delivers a focused Techno-driven set, balancing Peak Time energy with moments of House and melodic variation.
