8U8A has published his track list for his upcoming show on Scientific Sound Asia radio, an esteemed platform known for its dedication to the electronic music scene in Asia. Scientific Sound Asia Radio stands out as the premier English-language electronic music station, operating not only as a radio broadcaster but also as a promoter and DJ agency that focuses on connecting artists with audiences across the continent. This radio station has become a vital hub for music lovers and DJs alike, showcasing a diverse array of genres and talents.
8U8A is a talented DJ hailing from Russia, who began his music career in the vibrant realm of Drum and Bass and Jungle MCing back in 2004. His journey into the world of music was marked by his early role as a vocalist, where he honed his skills and developed a unique style that would later define his performances. By 2007, he had a transformative realization about his artistic aspirations; he wanted to blend the roles of DJ and MC, allowing him to create a more immersive experience for his audience. This led him to embark on an extensive journey of collecting bass music from all corners of the globe, with a particular focus on genres such as dubstep, grime, and garage. His eclectic taste and passion for music drove him to explore new sounds and cultures.
In 2011, 8U8A's musical exploration took a significant turn as he delved into the Global Bass scene. This new phase of his career saw his collection expand dramatically, incorporating a myriad of vibrant styles including Baile Funk, Moombahton, Kuduro, Dancehall, Dembow, Cumbia, Trap, Jersey Club, Footwork, Jungle, and many other innovative sub-genres. Each of these styles added layers to his artistry, allowing him to craft sets that are rich in diversity and rhythm, appealing to a wide range of audiences.
In 2014, driven by a desire to share his extensive music collection and showcase his remarkable talents, 8U8A embarked on a journey across South East Asia. His travels were not just about performing; they were about connecting with fellow musicians and artists, and he quickly established a network of friends and collaborators in the region. His performances in countries like Vietnam, Cambodia, and Indonesia were met with enthusiastic crowds, where his dynamic skills on both the microphone and the decks ignited a palpable energy among listeners. 8U8A's mission of spreading good vibes through music has resonated deeply within the Asian music scene, and he is currently on our DJ agency, where his presence is felt strongly.
Today, 8U8A performs regular shows on our station and throughout the vibrant locales of Ho Chi Minh City and Mui Ne, where he has made his home. His ongoing commitment to the craft and his passion for music continue to inspire both fans and fellow artists alike. As he prepares for his upcoming show on Scientific Sound Asia radio, anticipation builds for the fresh sounds and infectious energy he will undoubtedly bring to the airwaves, further solidifying his status as a key player in the electronic music scene of Asia.
8U8A’s 13th edition opens with warped textures and atmospheric beats from Alex Barbarian and Kryone, laying a heady foundation before the Baile Funk assault begins. Tirado delivers multiple streetwise heaters early on, mixing sociopolitical themes with relentless percussion.
Midway through the set, the global flavours widen. Yemanjo’s edits of Tchigi Fo and Valy infuse North and West African melodies with electronic structure, while Branko, Catboom, and Lord Breu bring tribal bass and urban fusion into focus. Pekodjinn’s work with MATJANG and Rolv.K keeps the cultural textures rich and club-ready.
The tempo lifts again with frenetic Baile Funk and Latin bass bangers. JLZ, kLap, and VINÍ flood the airwaves with kinetic rhythms, often blending with trap, dembow, or electro edges. Tirado’s Balança and Noize Men’s edits set fire to the dancefloor as rhythms collide and mutate.
In its final stretch, the show flexes experimental chops. S-Type’s Fetch and Way More Greed’s Junkfood balance leftfield sound design with grimey club attitude. SOOHAN and Uki provide nostalgic flips on White Rabbit and Brighter Days, ensuring Episode 13 ends on a note that is both globally aware and deeply rooted in bass-heavy experimentation.
