Yushka has published his track playlist for his upcoming show. Scientific Sound Asia Radio is the premier electronic music radio station for Ho Chi Minh City, Hanoi, Vietnam and Asia.
Yushka, born in Nottingham, UK, has been working as a DJ at free parties, raves, festivals, and club nights in the UK, Ireland, and, most recently, Vietnam since the mid-2000s. A former member of Nottingham's What The Funk? DJ group and the main brainchild behind Nottingham's Shits and Giggles and Hot-Point Sound Systems.
As a child, he was always interested in how music was generated and constructing mix tapes; however, he had no means of purchasing DJ equipment at first. However, with access to rudimentary software and a CD recorder, he began creating mixes to distribute at school, earning him playground renown as a DJ.
Fast forward to 2004, and at the age of 22, he finally had the opportunity to spin on some genuine turntables. By 2006, he was hosting weekly Sh!ts and GIggles Nottingham events in quirky bars and nightclubs throughout Nottingham's vibrant community, alongside co-host and founder Animinimal (Deck-starter/Catalyst).
As the events progressed, it became clear that they needed to supplement the hosting venue's failing PA systems with their own, so the Sh!ts and G!ggles sound system was established. This quickly spread, and after an eternity of listening to tunes with the now-legendary Matty C (Hanoi Hi-Fi), the Hotpoint Sound System of Nottingham was founded.
This resulted in a slew of underground free parties and the accompanying mayhem. Collaborations with promoters from the East Midlands, including Substance D&B, Pure Filth, TSA303, Monkey Nuts, and Psycle, followed, providing the traditional multi-genre events and parties that Hotpoint and S&G were known for.
He has supported Drum and Bass legends EZ Rollers and Kenny Ken, and has performed in Vietnam at venues such as Sidewalk Hanoi - Bar / Kitchen / Events (Hanoi) and Broma: Not a Bar, Arcan, Bann Bar (HCMC). Anticipate anything from chilled laid-back beats to breaks, hip hop, electro, tech, and D&B, all with a dash of funk and soul.
