DJ Joshua has published the playlists for his weekly 'Floating Beats' and 'Velvety Elements' shows. Scientific Sound Asia is the Asian electronic music station and DJ Agency for the region with a global following.
DJ Joshua is a Portuguese subject hailing from Evora. His main pastime is accumulating electronic music and spinning as a disc jockey and he owns a large library of music across all formats including vinyl, and digital.
As a youngster, he gathered genres such as House, Drum and Bass, Chill-out, and Techno to name a few. His time spent digging for vinyl in record shops was tripled in his home where he practised as a DJ across every genre.
In the early nineties, his love for electronic music was hard to listen to on the airwaves as it was omitted on radio stations across Portugal. After liaising with local stations and a lot of patience, he gained a host of residencies and began his journey on the airwaves, spreading his obsession with electronica to homegrown electronic music fans.
After a while, he saw a need to start doing events and share his passion in local clubs and bars with his friends. When his firstborn came into the world he took a break from the scene to get into fatherhood.
As his daughter grew he realised he needed a new outlet for his passion and started a new radio show named 'Floating Beats'. Since then he has gained a massive following with his online presence and his shows are broadcast internationally.
After gaining a footing, he created another show to display the deep and soulful expression of House Music and his second show 'Velvety Elements' was born. His 'Floating Beats' and 'Velvety Elements' podcast is transmitted on a good selection of online platforms and stations internationally.
In closing, Joshua has this to say 'Music is an art form. It is the fusion of elements that can convey emotions and make the body move. This is a place where you hear sounds that can float and end up falling onto your body, enjoy it.'
In his weekly shows, Joshua delves into a mixture of House Music and Techno sub-genres frequently featuring Deep House, Tech House, Melodic House, Detroit House, Soulful House, Progressive House, Techno, Vocal House, and Melodic Techno.
