Cali’s HouseNation Radio returns this week on Scientific Sound Asia, hosted by DJ Nocturne of Digital Audio Kingz. The broadcast opens with Nocturne before handing over the second hour to guest DJ Sean Dexter.
Originally from Los Angeles, Nocturne began his DJ journey in 2007 under the name DJ Turiz, performing across reggaeton, hip hop and a wide range of Latin styles including bachata, merengue, salsa and cumbia. His versatility and instinctive ability to read the dancefloor quickly earned him recognition throughout the Southern California club circuit.
A transition into electronic music in 2013 marked a defining shift in his career. He co-founded Digital Audio Kingz alongside DJ MORE and became a regular presence on FM radio. By 2018, he adopted the Nocturne alias and launched Cali’s HouseNation Radio, a house-centred programme that has since grown into a globally syndicated series through the CHNR Syndication Network.
Now based in San Diego while maintaining close ties to Los Angeles, Nocturne continues to evolve his sound through projects such as On the Deep End, which explores deeper progressive and melodic territory, alongside Deep House Sessions under the DAK Music banner. His approach remains grounded in groove, emotion and the communal spirit that defines house music culture.
With Nocturne shaping the opening hour and DJ Sean Dexter guiding the second, this edition of Cali’s HouseNation Radio delivers a seamless and energetic journey through contemporary house music on Scientific Sound Asia.

From 2011 to 2024, Sean hosted the long-running radio programme BayAreaBeatbox. The show began on Pure Radio Holland and concluded on Underground Kollektiv Radio in the United Kingdom, reflecting its international reach.
Throughout its run, the programme featured both Sean’s own curated sets and guest appearances from respected artists including Paul Johnson, James Curd and Jay Tripwire, among others. In addition to his residency show, Sean has appeared on numerous podcasts and mix series worldwide, maintaining a steady presence within global house music circles.
As a producer, Sean Dexter’s original tracks and remixes have been released on labels such as Selekta Recordings, SoulJack Digital and Deepen Sound. Over the years, he has collaborated with artists including Jay Tripwire, Sen-Sei and George JJ Flores, contributing to a catalogue that reflects his deep connection to groove-led house music.

Chicago’s respected 5 Magazine has also recognised his contributions to the house scene. This further underscores his long-standing influence within North American underground house culture.
The first hour with Nocturne opens in accessible territory as Deeper, I Wanna Go in the John Summit remix, and What’s A Girl To Do establish a Dance and Electro Pop foundation aligned with Mainstage and Club House energy. The Loud Luxury remix of The Fate Of Ophelia and Oliver Heldens’ take on Lady (Hear Me Tonight) continue that polished, vocal-led direction, while A Place You Wanna Go (Good Life) and Keep Forgettin’ maintain a crossover feel between radio-friendly hooks and club rhythm.
Momentum shifts firmly toward the floor with All I Need before the Tech House core takes control. Pull Up, Layton Giordani’s Hold It Down (DARE), and Body Movement introduce tighter drums and rolling low-end focus. Drum Check, Diet Coke and James Hype’s Behaviour reinforce a groove-driven structure, and the Tech House rework of Gotta Get Through This closes the hour with a sharper, percussive edge.
Sean Dexter’s second hour pivots into a warmer Deep House and Jackin House space. Girls on Film sets a smooth tone before Sophia’s Leaf and the Redondo remix of Madinat inject classic Jackin bounce. The Tonbe mix of Trouble Maker adds Nu Disco colour, blending retro flavour with contemporary production weight.
The closing stretch deepens and intensifies. The Bronx and Sound System move into Minimal and Deep Tech textures, while Modulator and Saxtronic return to Tech House propulsion. Bounce introduces Peak Time Techno drive before Gotta Get What You Want, and the Derrick Carter dub of Someone Else resolves the session in refined Deep House style, round
