Nocturne is back for Cali’s HouseNation Radio with guest DJ Memo Rex.

American DJ and radio host DJ Nocturne is captured in a lively outdoor scene, sitting under a tree with his body turned to the left, glancing right at the camera with a playful smirk. Sporting a DJ baseball cap and a “Cali's HouseNation Radio” T-shirt, he rests both arms casually on his knees while holding a vinyl record. The backdrop is Los Angeles, California, USA.

Cali’s HouseNation Radio returns this Saturday on Scientific Sound Asia, hosted by DJ Nocturne of Digital Audio Kingz. This week’s broadcast opens with a signature set from Nocturne before handing over to guest DJ Memo Rex for the second half of the show.

Nocturne, originally from Los Angeles, began his career in 2007 under the name DJ Turiz, performing across reggaeton, hip hop and a wide range of Latin styles including bachata, merengue, salsa and cumbia. His versatility and high-energy approach quickly earned him recognition within the Southern California club circuit, where he became known for reading the room and driving the dancefloor with precision.

A move into electronic music in 2013 marked a turning point, leading him to co-found Digital Audio Kingz with DJ MORE and secure regular FM radio features. By 2018, he adopted the Nocturne alias and launched Cali’s HouseNation Radio, a house and dance mix series that has since grown into a globally syndicated programme through the CHNR Syndication Network.

Now based in San Diego while remaining closely connected to Los Angeles, Nocturne continues to expand his artistic reach through projects such as On the Deep End, which explores deeper progressive and melodic directions, alongside his Deep House Sessions under the DAK Music banner. His work remains rooted in sharing the emotion, unity and forward momentum that define house music culture.

With Nocturne setting the tone in the first hour and Memo Rex taking control in the second, this week’s edition of Cali’s HouseNation Radio delivers a fluid and engaging journey through contemporary house music on Scientific Sound Asia.

DJ Memo Rex is an emerging electronic music artist whose sound sits at the intersection of Afro House, Organic House, Indie Dance and Melodic House & Techno. His productions are characterised by warm rhythmic foundations, melodic clarity and a strong sense of forward motion, balancing dancefloor functionality with emotional depth.

Over the past year, Memo Rex has been particularly active in the studio, delivering a run of releases across respected underground labels. His collaboration with SAAND and PALOMA, Brilla, landed on Music Is 4 Lovers earlier this year, followed by Mezcalito on the same imprint, both leaning into Afro House with rich percussion and uplifting melodic phrasing.

He returned to Music Is 4 Lovers again with Love, an Organic House cut that explored deeper, more intimate textures. In February, Memo Rex stepped into Indie Dance territory with First &

Foremost on For Those Who Need Records, showing a more driving, club-ready side of his sound. This was followed by Circles on LW Recordings as part of the Elevating Melodies series, where he leaned into Melodic House & Techno with subtle harmonic movement and restrained energy.

Most recently, Memo Rex delivered an Afro House remix of Ukuguhba by SAAND on Tierra Sounds, further cementing his relationship with the Afro-influenced underground while demonstrating his ability to reinterpret existing material with his own rhythmic signature. With multiple releases already scheduled throughout the year, Memo Rex is clearly building momentum, positioning himself as a versatile producer with a growing presence across several key electronic sub-genres.

Whether behind the decks or in the studio, Memo Rex continues to refine a sound rooted in groove, melody and atmosphere, making him a strong addition to the current wave of forward-thinking electronic artists.

DJ Nocturne opens episode 299 with a confident crossover flow, moving from vocal-driven dance cuts like Sugar and Come Find Me into the anthemic lift of Heaven Takes You Home and Cry For You. The early section balances accessibility with club intent, keeping melodies upfront while maintaining steady rhythmic pressure.

As the first hour unfolds, Nocturne shifts deeper into House and Tech House territory. Grooves tighten through tracks such as Saltare, Mattika and In&Out, before heavier low-end energy arrives with Speed Your Bassline, I Know You Want To and Get Back. The set closes with C’est La Vie, delivering a bold electro-leaning finale that caps off the opening hour with peak-time confidence.

The second hour belongs firmly to DJ Memo Rex, presenting a showcase of his own productions and remixes. He opens with Circles, setting an introspective tone that carries through Black Magic and his remix of The Heartbeat. These tracks highlight his ability to blend emotional melodies with clean, rolling deep house grooves, creating space without losing momentum.

Memo Rex continues to shape the journey through originals such as Resonance, Dark Materials, Tricknology and Horizonte, each reinforcing his signature sound of warm pads, subtle tension and restrained drive. The set closes on a reflective note with Ordinary Love and his remix of Let Me Go, rounding out a deeply personal guest mix that contrasts perfectly with the high-energy opening hour and brings episode 299 to a smooth, late-night finish.

Join the live broadcast of the show on Saturday, December 13th, from 4 PM to 6 PM Indochina Time (ICT). If you miss the live airing, you can tune in again on Wednesday from 4 AM to 6 AM (ICT).
