Nocturne is back for Cali’s HouseNation Radio with guest DJ Loa.

American DJ and radio presenter DJ Nocturne is captured in a vibrant portrait, standing near the harbor and gazing to his left. He’s wearing a t-shirt featuring a Pioneer DJM800 mixer printed on white fabric, with the lively scene set against the backdrop of Los Angeles, California, USA.

Cali’s HouseNation Radio returns this Saturday on Scientific Sound Asia, hosted by DJ Nocturne of Digital Audio Kingz. This week’s broadcast opens with a signature set from Nocturne before handing over to guest DJ Lóa, who delivers a vibrant mix shaped by groove, rhythm, and uplifting house sensibilities.

Nocturne, originally from Los Angeles, began his career in 2007 under the name DJ Turiz, performing across reggaeton, hip hop, and Latin styles, including bachata, merengue, salsa, and cumbia. His versatility and high-energy approach quickly made him a recognised figure in the Southern California club circuit, where he developed a reputation for reading the room and driving the dancefloor with precision.

His move into electronic music in 2013 marked a major shift, leading him to co-found Digital Audio Kingz with DJ MORE and secure regular FM radio features. By 2018, he evolved into his current moniker, Nocturne, and launched Cali’s HouseNation Radio, a house and dance mix series that has since become a globally syndicated programme through the CHNR Syndication Network.

Now based in San Diego while staying closely connected to Los Angeles, Nocturne continues to expand his artistic reach through projects such as On the Deep End, which explores deep, progressive, and melodic shades of house and techno, alongside his Deep House Sessions under the DAK Music banner. His work remains focused on sharing the emotion and unity at the heart of house music.

With Nocturne’s polished selection and DJ Lóa’s expressive and spirited sound, this week’s edition of Cali’s HouseNation Radio delivers a dynamic and engaging journey through contemporary house music.

DJ Lóa is an international DJ, singer and music producer whose sound blends house, Afro-house, Latin rhythms, disco, global bass and soulful electronic textures. Based in Austin, Texas and originally from New York City, she carries the influence of her Afro-Latina Dominican heritage into both her productions and her DJ sets, giving her music a strong cultural and rhythmic identity.

Her career has taken her to major festivals, including SXSW and the Sundance Film Festival, along with shows across the United States and Mexico. She has performed for clients such as Formula 1, Snapchat, Intel, Live Nation and a range of corporate and tech events, building a reputation for high-energy, genre-fusing sets.

Beyond performance, DJ Lóa is also a music producer and the founder of the Babestock Music Festival, recognised as the first EDM festival in the United States to feature an all-female and non-binary DJ lineup. Her commitment to expanding representation within dance music has played an important role in shaping inclusive spaces in the scene.

Her recent releases focus primarily on thematic mixes and original productions. Highlights include Fuego Ritmo, a Latin House mix released in late 2025, and House of Soul, an alternative house set exploring deeper and more melodic textures.

Earlier mixes such as Desert Grooves, In House We Trust and For the Love of House show her versatility across Afro-house, deep house and tech-house moods. She is also continuing to develop original material under her Arloa Music brand, with recent projects including The Black Experience, which reflects her background as a vocalist and storyteller.

Active across North America, DJ Lóa remains a rising figure in global electronic music. Her work blends cultural roots with club-driven energy, offering a sound that is warm, rhythmic and unmistakably her own.

The episode begins with DJ Nocturne setting a smooth and melodic direction through a series of Deep House selections. Tracks such as Quiero, Only Vibration and Terracotta shape an early warm-up marked by soft percussion and flowing chord work. The pace gradually rises with Te Conoci and Floating Point, keeping the groove subtle but purposeful as the mix draws momentum.

Energy builds further as Ju, On A Mission and Give2Me carry the sound into a richer Deep House space. A shift arrives when Galvanize appears in Chris Lake’s extended mix, injecting a bold burst of Dance and Pop before Nocturne moves confidently into House with We Don’t Play, Liquor Store and Nasty Girl, each adding extra drive to the rhythm.

Latin and Tech House take over in the latter part of Nocturne’s hour, bringing lively percussion and party-focused energy. Tracks like Ay Bendita, Smells Like Party and the edit of Asi Fue introduce a colourful Latin influence. The first hour closes with the bright groove of Café Con Leche, rounding off a vibrant and rhythmic opening set.

DJ Loa shifts the tone in the second hour with a mix rooted in Bass House, Tech House and Funky House. Early moments like Date Prisa, Free and You Take Me Higher lay down punchy low-end and big club energy. The groove expands into Funky and Jackin House through You Can’t Fake It, The Devil’s Hand and Hear Me Out, keeping the middle section upbeat and dance-floor ready.

The set becomes more eclectic as Loa blends Bass House, Nu Disco and Latin influences. Get Busy, Purified and Rollin’ raise intensity before feel-good cuts like I’m Alive and In Da Getto add freshness. Layers of Indie Dance and Latin Dance follow through Start The Party, Linda and the classic Suavemente edit, broadening the mix with global rhythms.

The episode heads into a high-energy finale with a run of Tech House and Disco-inspired selections. Tracks such as Calabria, Bambadem, 24h In A Disco and Maghic build a final lift before the mix reaches its peak with Lose My Number, Aloha and Madan. The closing stretch features RATATA, IN IN IN and the rolling groove of Switch, finishing with a colourful blend of Latin Tech, melodic touches and modern club styles that wrap up this dynamic two-hour journey.

Join the live broadcast of the show on Saturday, November 22nd, from 4 PM to 6 PM Indochina Time (ICT). If you miss the live airing, you can tune in again on Wednesday from 4 AM to 6 AM (ICT).
