Cali’s HouseNation Radio returns this week on Scientific Sound Asia, hosted by DJ Nocturne of Digital Audio Kingz. The broadcast opens with Nocturne before handing over the second hour to guest DJ Cal, Like Ripken.
Originally from Los Angeles, Nocturne began his DJ career in 2007 under the name DJ Turiz, performing across reggaeton, hip hop and a wide range of Latin styles including bachata, merengue, salsa and cumbia. His versatility and instinctive ability to read the dancefloor quickly earned him recognition across the Southern California club circuit.
A shift toward electronic music in 2013 marked a turning point in his career. He co-founded Digital Audio Kingz alongside DJ MORE and became a regular presence on FM radio. By 2018, he adopted the Nocturne alias and launched Cali’s HouseNation Radio, a house-focused programme that has since grown into a globally syndicated series through the CHNR Syndication Network.
Now based in San Diego while remaining closely connected to Los Angeles, Nocturne continues to develop his sound through projects such as On the Deep End, which explores deeper progressive and melodic territory, alongside Deep House Sessions under the DAK Music banner. His approach remains grounded in groove, emotion and the communal foundations of house music.
With Nocturne setting the tone and Cal, Like Ripken, shaping the closing stretch, this edition of Cali’s HouseNation Radio delivers a cohesive journey through contemporary house music on Scientific Sound Asia.

Guest DJ Cal LikeRipken.
Cal LikeRipken is a New Orleans–based DJ and producer whose work sits at the intersection of melodic house, rhythmic groove and organic musical influence. Operating under a single moniker, Caleb Rojas presents his music as Cal LikeRipken, a project defined by flow, colour and musical restraint rather than genre boundaries.
His productions are characterised by smooth, evolving arrangements that blend contemporary club structures with Afro-influenced rhythms and jazz-informed musicality. House forms the foundation, but his sound consistently leans toward warmth and movement, favouring progression and feel over peak-time excess.
In early 2026, Cal LikeRipken released his debut EP Talkin’ Bout Practice on Outsiders Recordings. The release marked a clear statement of intent, bringing together groove-led house cuts shaped by live-feeling percussion, melodic phrasing and subtle swing.
Rather than leaning on heavy drops, the EP focuses on continuity and musical conversation, reinforcing his preference for long-form, dancefloor-aware writing. This release builds on his growing presence within the underground house circuit, positioning Cal, LikeRipken as an artist equally comfortable in club environments and deeper listening contexts.
His sound balances functionality with expression, drawing from multiple traditions while remaining firmly rooted in modern electronic music. As his catalogue continues to develop, Cal LikeRipken stands out as a focused and emerging voice, guided by groove, atmosphere and a clear sense of musical identity.
The first hour with Nocturne opens firmly in House territory, with groove-driven selections such as Bikini (On The Beach) and I’m Watching You (So Many Times) setting a steady rhythmic base. Vocal-led and dub-leaning House tracks sit alongside deeper cuts, keeping the emphasis on consistency and flow.
As the hour progresses, the set introduces Indie Dance and Tech House elements. Ya Tù provides a subtle stylistic shift before Tech House takes a stronger role through tracks like Shake That Ass and G’s Up. Latin-influenced rhythms appear briefly with Cafe Con Ron, adding variation without changing the overall structure.
The second hour with DJ Cal, LikeRipken moves decisively into Tech House, with tightly programmed club-focused tracks dominating the early section. These are balanced by House selections such as Yirupo Yirupa and Technosexual, maintaining a clear connection to the show’s core sound.
In the final stretch, Minimal, Deep Tech and Afro House elements emerge through Inner Funk, Jazzing and The Sensation. The episode closes with a return to House and Tech House, completing a set that remains grounded in groove-led club music across both hours.
Catch the live broadcast of the show on Saturday, January 24th, 2026, from 4 PM to 6 PM Indochina Time (ICT). If you miss it, you can catch the replay on Wednesday from 4 AM to 6 AM (ICT).
