Marco Mei has published the tracklist for episode 10 of 2021, broadcast on Saturday, the 6th of March. Scientific Sound Asia is an English-language electronic music radio station, DJ agency, music news outlet and events promoter covering electronic music across Japan, China, Thailand, Taiwan, Korea, Sri Lanka and beyond.

Marco Mei is an Italian DJ and producer whose three decades in the industry began in the early 1990s, when a grounding in afrobeat, funk and early electronic music pushed him towards the decks. That breadth of influence has kept his selections from settling into a single sound across a career that has taken him through clubs and festivals on multiple continents.

The momentum built through early Italian dates eventually secured him a residency at Pacha Club in Sharm-El-Sheikh, a launchpad for the wider international circuit that followed. His Facebook page tracks his current activity, and his touring history spans venues including Woo Bar, Fuse in Brussels, Room 18 in Taipei, Bangaluu in Berlin, G-Star in Pattaya, SOS Supper Club in Bali and NLO in Minsk, with Roger Sanchez, David Morales, Ralph Falcon, Harry Choo Choo Romero, Justin Berkmann and Funk D'Void among the artists he has appeared alongside.

Bicycle Corporation, his long-running studio collaboration with Stefano Ugliano, known as 6884, grew out of a shared house and techno sensibility when the pair joined forces in 2009. Picked up by 17:44 Records and subsequently placed across Alchemy, Miniatures, WL77, GrooveTraxx, Suka and Revox, the project has produced over fifty tracks and remixes that have drawn support from Dubfire, Axwell, Danny Tenaglia, Mauro Picotto and Above and Beyond.

Ciao Taipei, the party he has run in the Taiwanese capital since 2013, has been central to his standing in the Southeast Asian underground and continues to draw a network of artists and promoters to the city. He is available for bookings through the Scientific Sound Asia radio station and DJ agency.

Marco Mei's show from 6th March 2021 opens with Deetron's Dr. Melonball on Nu Groove, making a second appearance in consecutive weeks, before Jovonn's Random also on Nu Groove continues the label's classic House Music sensibility. Nicola Conte and Gianluca Petrella's Inner Light featuring Raashan Ahmad on Schema Records then arrives as one of the more culturally distinctive selections of the show, the Italian jazz duo's Spiritual Jazz and Jazz Dance album track sitting at a deliberate remove from the conventional DJ tool.

MoBlack, Emmanuel Jal and Henrik Schwarz's Chagu on Defected brings the set into Afro House territory, the South Sudanese musician Emmanuel Jal's spoken word presence giving the track a weight that distinguishes it from more straightforward Afro House selections. Claudio Coccoluto Presents The Heartists's Belo Horizonti in the 20 Anos Rmx follows as a moment of classic House history, the Italian DJ and producer's legacy well represented here. Ali Kuru and Ilhan Ersahin's Eplos introduces a Deep House and Jazz House quality before Alex Kennon and Pete Tong's Apache and Pablo Bozzi's Brigade Canine carry the set forward.

Loveface's Love Satisfaction and Tilman's Say Good Bye sustain the deep and soulful direction before DJ Sneak's In Da Clouds delivers a Chicago House anchor. DJ Kincaid's About The Music in Kenny Summit's One Two BBQ Mix returns from the previous week's show before Rheinzand's Blind in the Gerd Janson Dance Remix shifts the mood towards a more Disco-inflected House register.

Trans-X's Living On Video in the Claptone Extended Remix then arrives as one of Marco Mei's characteristically unexpected pop edits, the 1983 Canadian Synthpop track given a Nu Disco treatment that recontextualises it effectively within the set.

Supernova's Lovely Summer Dreams and Llewellyn's Shimshit on Playrjc sustain the melodic and deep direction before Biesmans's Save The Night introduces a Melodic House and Techno quality. Alex Aguayo's Not Going Out and Cristoph, Franky Wah and Artche's The World You See carry the set through its later mid-section before DJ Alone Again's With Whom U Belong and Hotevilla's Feel Like Moving return to a Soulful House warmth.

Maxinne and Moya's In The Groove makes its third appearance across consecutive Marco Mei shows, the track clearly a fixture in his current rotation. Sosa's Da House on Cuttin' Headz and Make A Dance's Real Pleasure carry the show towards its close before Danny Tenaglia's Music Is The Answer in the Montel Club Mix rounds off the episode.

The New York DJ and producer's anthemic 1998 track is an apt closing statement for a show that covered considerable House Music ground throughout. Marco Mei's 6th March 2021 broadcast is a wide-ranging episode, moving between Classic House, Deep House, Jazz Dance and Nu Disco with the curatorial confidence that defines the series.
