L-J Louis has published his playlist for the 'Enchanted Rhythms' episode 5. Scientific Sound Asia radio is an Asian electronic music station, promoter, and DJ agency for the region and globally.

L-J Louis is a London-born, Melbourne-based DJ who has been honing his craft for the last 20 years. Originally cutting his teeth at house parties where he and his friends would take over the decks and microphone, as well as warehouse gigs throughout the early 2000s.

As a youngster, he took musical influence from acts such as Soul II Soul, Mood II Swing, Masters at Work and 90s R&B, whilst reaching for the dubbier side of House and Garage with artists such as Dem 2, El-B and Steve Gurley and dipping into Drum and Bass and early Dubstep when it suited him.

Having such eclectic taste as well as a huge range of musical influences meant he spent years playing local gigs around Melbourne supporting the likes of Zed Bias, MJ Cole, Joe Nice, Seven, Addison Groove, Deadboy, Kryptic Minds, Mark Pritchard, and others. He did this whilst holding down a weekly show on Sub FM and Kiss FM, Melbourne.

Now showing signs of maturity and being obsessed with seamless blends, you can expect anything from Deep Soulful House and Garage, as well as switching to the dub side of House Music. Enjoy the show.

The episode opens with warm House textures and classic grooves, setting a gentle but confident stride through selections by Cassius, Paul Sirrell and Chez Damier. L-J Louis leans into soulful rhythms and subtle percussive layers, building a steady, organic momentum. Tracks by Sakro and Honey Dijon enrich the early flow with deep, tactile basslines and expressive vocals that feel both intimate and dance-ready.

Moving deeper into the mix, the mood becomes more fluid and groove-focused. Felipe Gordon, De La Swing and Laura Jones provide rich, analogue-coloured House cuts, shifting the atmosphere into something moodier and more hypnotic. Surprise Chef’s MAW Mix brings a broken-beat twist, followed by a run of Deep House selections from Mike Sharon and Cinthie that anchor the set with warmth and depth.

As the session progresses, L-J Louis shifts toward UK-influenced rhythms, weaving in Joy Orbison’s genre-bending “Better” and DJ Zinc’s breakbeat-shaded “Music Makers.” These transitions create a refreshing lift without breaking the overall House sensibility of the show. Dusky’s “Flo Jam” further bridges the groove between garage-inspired rhythms and dancefloor-ready House, adding energy just when it’s needed.

The closing stretch returns to smooth Deep House, with elegant selections from Franche, Zetbee and Sean Bartana, before circling back to floor-focused cuts by Harry Romero, Sakro and Subb-an. The result is a balanced, inviting session that blends soulful House, leftfield touches and rhythmic diversity, reflecting L-J Louis’ trademark taste for emotive, groove-driven storytelling.
