Graham Gold released the playlist for his weekly show Esta La Musica for that Saturday on Scientific Sound Asia, the English-language electronic music station, promoter and DJ agency for Asia.
The show took its name from the tattoo on his right arm, inked in Los Angeles in the late nineties. Graham’s rise in the electronic scene had initially been driven by his weekly shows on London’s Kiss 100 and his influential London club brand Peach. When he left Kiss and relocated to Southeast Asia, he revived the phrase on his arm as the title of his new Techno-focused radio show, Esta La Musica.
Graham’s foundations as a DJ were laid in London, where he held a decade-long six-nights-a-week residency at Gullivers in Mayfair. His journey had begun even earlier, at seventeen, when his passion for Afrocentric music led him to create The Funky Road Show with a friend. The mobile disco soon became one of the most sought-after names in the West End and set the tone for his lifelong involvement in nightlife culture.
By the early 1980s, Graham was playing black music five nights a week across the capital. His work on several of London’s pirate radio stations further shaped his sound, taking him through Reggae, Soul, Disco and Jazz-Funk. This era ultimately led to his move to Capital FM for the Saturday night soul show as part of the Radio London Soul Night Out team, which earned him Broadcaster of the Year in 1985.
Graham became part of Kiss FM from its beginnings, and his shows there were widely regarded as a driving force behind the station’s rise. His profile grew internationally, earning him eight consecutive years in the DJ Magazine Top 100 and a place among Dash’s “Most Popular DJs in the World of All Time.”
By the time Esta La Musica aired on Scientific Sound Asia, Graham still maintained a strong international following and performed regularly across Asia and beyond. The weekly show featured tracks from across Deep House, Progressive House, Melodic House and Techno, Tech House, Deep Tech, Organic House and Techno. His collaboration with Samotarev, Rising, appeared in this particular episode, presented alongside remixes by DJ Zombi and Maydan, marking one of the standout moments of the broadcast.
In the years since, Graham continued to DJ globally and remained active in the studio. His more recent work found support among melodic and deep house DJs worldwide, and he appeared on a range of underground line-ups across Thailand, Vietnam, Australia and the UK. Esta La Musica continued to serve as a showcase for new promos and unreleased melodic and techno-driven material, underlining the longevity of his brand and the enduring loyalty of his following.
The opening stretch of episode 351 sets a deep melodic tone as Rising, Chaman and Krishnamuirti introduce a grounded progressive energy. Organic percussion and warm low end shape the beginning of the session, giving the mix its steady forward motion. The transition into Wonk and Quarry shifts the atmosphere into tighter minimal textures with rolling grooves and subtle rhythmic accents.
As the set progresses, Graham Gold leans into deeper colours with Oblivion and Timely, balancing organic house warmth with a more hypnotic edge. A lift in intensity arrives through the Stan Kolev rework of From Outer Space, where melodic phrasing and bold synth layers open the mix into wider club focused territory. The Arnold From Mumbai remix of Glücklich Im Zwielicht keeps this momentum, adding mood-driven chords that extend the emotional depth of the journey.
The later section brings more groove-led direction. Kidney Punch and Superstitious supply crisp tech house movement, followed by the vocal warmth of In Love, which adds a classic house touch. The energy remains fluid and controlled as Ifism blends organic detail with melodic structure, guiding the mix into its closing phase.
The episode finishes on the deep pulse of Heavy Feather, where subtle minimal patterns and atmospheric layers offer a calm but engaging conclusion. Melodic threads, organic rhythms and driving house grooves align throughout the hour, giving episode 351 its signature balance of warmth, movement and underground identity.
