Graham Gold returns with another edition of Esta La Musica on Scientific Sound Asia. The platform continues to operate as an Asian electronic music radio station, DJ agency and promoter, while also publishing music news and connecting underground electronic music audiences across the region and internationally.

Named after a tattoo Graham received in Los Angeles during the late 1990s, Esta La Musica reflects decades of dedication to club culture, broadcasting and electronic music. Graham first became widely recognised through his influential programmes on London’s Kiss 100 FM, where his weekly broadcasts helped soundtrack a key period in the development of house, trance and progressive music culture.

At the same time, his involvement with the iconic Peach events established him as one of the defining DJs of London’s underground club circuit during the 1990s and early 2000s. The Peach nights became known for their progressive atmosphere and forward-thinking musical direction, helping introduce generations of clubbers to melodic and driving electronic sounds.

Long before international touring became central to his career, Graham Gold built his reputation through years of work across London clubs and radio. A decade-long residency at Gulliver’s Club in Mayfair saw him performing almost nightly, while pirate radio and later Capital FM gave him a platform to explore soul, funk, disco and dance music with wider audiences. His Broadcaster of the Year award in 1985 highlighted his growing importance within UK radio culture.

His later work with Kiss FM expanded that reputation globally and led to eight consecutive appearances in DJ Magazine’s Top 100 DJs ranking. Across those years, Graham became closely associated with uplifting and progressive electronic music while continuing to evolve stylistically through radio, touring and production work.

Alongside radio broadcasting and live performances, Graham remains active in the studio with productions covering Deep House, Progressive House, Melodic House & Techno and Trance. Releases such as French Horn with Kollen on Moon Island Records showcase a deeper and groove-led side of his sound, while tracks on Ballroom Records, including Uncanny Parallels and Postponed, focus more heavily on hypnotic melodic structures and darker club atmospheres.

His productions with Samotarev on Asymmetric Recordings also continue exploring melodic progressive territory through releases such as Rising and Blue Camels. The DJ Zombi & Maydan remix of Rising pushes further into cinematic Melodic House & Techno, reflecting Graham’s increasing focus on atmospheric arrangements and long-form progression. His collaboration with Jourdan Bordes on Manipulation continues this direction with tighter percussion and driving club energy.

Despite this evolution into deeper melodic sounds, Graham continues to maintain a connection to the trance music that helped define much of his international profile. Releases including Glorified, Living In The Now and the Manuel Le Saux remix of Moving On revisit uplifting trance through a more contemporary production lens while retaining the emotional melodies associated with his earlier catalogue.

The Peach brand also remains active through reunion events in London and Ibiza, including appearances at Ministry of Sound and Fabric. These club nights reconnect original followers of the Peach era while introducing younger audiences to one of the UK’s most influential progressive club brands.

Now living in Thailand, Graham continues performing regularly throughout Southeast Asia at venues and events across Koh Phangan, Koh Samui, Phuket and Pattaya. His appearances range from beach and sunset sessions to larger underground gatherings, including Retro Mountain, Jungle Experience and Full Moon Party events, maintaining a close connection with the region’s electronic music community.

Through Esta La Musica, Graham Gold continues presenting a wide spectrum of underground electronic music, combining decades of experience with ongoing studio output and carefully selected programming that moves naturally across Deep House, Progressive House, Melodic House & Techno, Tech House and Trance.

The set opens with The Journey and Haptic’s Memento Mori in the Freakme remix, immediately establishing a melodic atmosphere before Mike Rish introduces a Progressive House groove through Moo. Alex Breitling and Mila Journee continue the flowing progression with Fall and The Last Time, balancing melodic textures with deeper rhythms.

Guido Cusani shifts the mood toward Deep House through Floating, while Habischman’s Freefall in the Cid Inc remix deepens the cinematic feel of the mix. Graham Gold’s own production The Lost City maintains the Melodic House and Techno direction, reinforcing the underground atmosphere established in the opening section.

The middle section develops through Xango’s Black Treacle and Nicky Elisabeth’s Celeste, where layered melodies and driving percussion dominate the flow. Scotty Cal briefly tightens the groove with the Tech House rhythms of Shepherds Groove before Kamara and Damian Russo restore the melodic direction through Man And Machine and Club Berlin in the Alnath remix.

Vdali’s White Rabbit in the Rizzer remix and Frivolous Jackson’s How U Do It bring a stronger Tech House edge into the session, creating a more club-focused atmosphere. Jacopo Susini then introduces a darker Techno groove through Wood, adding intensity before the closing stretch.

Four Hands’ Everlasting World returns the mix to melodic territory before Soapbass closes the session with Charlie in the DJ Lion and Just Julien remix. The final section balances melodic and Peak Time Techno influences, completing a smooth underground journey through Progressive, melodic and groove-driven electronic sounds.
